Several people killed in school shooting in Austria's second biggest city, police say

Police said they deployed in force to the area around a high school in the northwest of the city of Graz after shots were heard.

At least eight people were killed and several others injured in a school shooting Tuesday in the southern Austrian city of Graz, local media reported.

Austria's interior ministry confirming that several people had been killed at a Graz school.

A police operation was underway at the BORG Dreierschützengasse school, a secondary school located in the northwest of the city, Austrian police said in a series of posts on X.

The police added that several emergency services, tactical units and a helicopter had been deployed to the area. “The situation is secure. No further danger is expected,” it said in a post on X.

Police spokesman Fritz Grundnig told Austrian public broadcaster ORF that police had evacuated the building after gunshots were heard.

Those injured included students and teachers, who were taken to the nearby Helmut List Hall events space for emergency care, according to Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung.

A meeting point was set up for the students’ parents at the ASKÖ football stadium, the police said.

It was not immediately clear whether the suspected perpetrator was among those injured.

Heard about this on the radio around an hour ago. Even my normalfag coworkers now agree that the longer it takes for them to reveal the name and face/ethnicity of the perpetrator, the higher the chance of him/her being brown.

They need to just drop the mug of this criminal. The longer they're trying to stall this the more tension they'll inevitably create.
Candidates include incels, wignats and the most peaceful religion ever (includes Hamas simps). Or maybe a student who had issues with teachers/pupils going mad.
 
Austrian media is saying four of the confirmed victims were 5th grade girls from one classroom and that the death toll is expected to be at least over a dozen.

Sorry for the double post but media is saying the shooter got killed by the police as soon as they arrived so we probably won't know who the shooter is til they ID them at the morgue.

I don't know about their general weapon laws but I've met a few Austrians and from what I can recall they have national service and if you are an "able bodied male" then you get a rifle as well as a sealed tin of ammo that you keep in your house. When they're older they meet up like once a year for a week or something with the people they trained with and play football/socialize (granted I spoke to quite an old man about it). No idea if they gave people pistols perhaps?

No, maybe Switzerland but not here. Chances are more likely he stole it from parents, grandparents or the families hunter. Here you need a test each year, etc etc etc.
