What can I say? I've been a regular TCRF editor for years, and seeing all this stupid shit really sucks.

Yeah, this has all been a rollercoaster of shit. I was an avid reader for years but never joined to contribute because I lolnope'd at the sight of mandatory Discord registration. Credit where credit is due, that is an effective filter for most, but what it doesn't filter is demonstrably infinitely worse.

I think he's banning people manually. If he's using a script, he probably has his own IP whitelisted.

I think it's a mix. Script for referral-related autobans. Another, super-sensitive, script for filtering the IP logs of suspicious activity, manual bans if any of it particularly triggers his paranoia.

Completely unrelated, but is there ANY legitimacy to the claims that the TCRF is constantly under DDoS attacks? I have never encountered any errors, slow load times, timeouts, crashes, literally anything typical of a DDoS, over the many years I've read the site, and especially over the weekend while I was manually scraping the ever-loving shit out of the site inbetwixt the Sharty raids. Not a single hint of any issues anywhere. The tin foil is crying to me that it's all a buncha bullshit to grift sympathetic Patreon bucks.

He took on the project of retranslating Final Fantasy VI for the sake of improving accuracy and to remove censorship and he did this while facing criticism from fellow translators who thought Ted Woolsey's translation was perfect and as if you're not allowed to have any alternatives to that. So he, despite being a troon, has my respect for that. It also helps that he's not on social media as far as I can tell.

I have respect for the work of these people. TCRF is fairly in line with my interests, but after a small amount of lurking ages ago, well before I understood troonery, I picked up on the horrid vibes under the surface of the "community" and it killed any desire I might've had to actually participate. I doubt I'm the only one either, and that's not even counting the people who did participate and got banned.

Something heavy-handed jannies fail to consider is, if you project out this pattern of spite and banning over minor disagreements over a long time, it produces a self-accelerating process that ablates any member that isn't as miserable as them. Eventually this probably hits a point of no return. In a way, it's their loss. I would guess that they consider it a positive in a short-sighted manner, "taking out the trash," or something.

Yeah, i never did like being around TCRF all that much. I remember as a kid having found all of these places, before TCRF was even a wiki, and the vibe was always just off. They always seemed a bit too much like downers. Got worse when they DID make the wiki, the message board they had was filled to the brim with furfags and their skyscraper sized signatures and this ugly ass css designs they'd do to be ~*UnIqUe*~. I've never seen anything so gaudy like it before or since. At the time i'd just chalked it up to them being furfags, but i don't anyone really knew what a tranny was beyond those weirdos you occasionally saw on TV(Alongside other weird shit like the guy who larped as a Jaguar).

Judging from the blogposts, he does not come across as shrill and BPD as your average online troon so we shall be cautiously optimistic when we deem him a more "normal" and agreeable troon.
