Not to mention there's a few solutions out there to slow bad scrapers down that can be used before using the nuclear option of blocking useragents wholesale and torpedoing any relevance your site has to being found on search engines and other places. One of those, being software that employs proof of work, which makes the client computer do a certain amount of number crunching before proceeding to the site they're connecting to. Bad abusive scrapers that rapidly crawl a site will have to spend much more compute power as well as time to scrape a site.

A few examples are, Kiwiflare, which is haproxy-protection with some modifications, as well as the KF branding. There's also Anubis, which despite being trannyware, I found it to be very much plug n' play. And I'm sure everyone here has seen the annoying Cloudflare captcha that sites you've come acrossed in your favorite search engines. There's others here I'm forgetting but you get the gist.

Xkeeper's priority is to maintain his little fiefdom which stands in direct opposition to video game preservation. Everyone can see this. It doesn't matter that it's KF. You don't just start being weird about IPs like this, creating zipbombs, clearly malicious and technically illegal behavior. Even just blocking VPNs and Tor exit nodes. That's not normal. The vast majority of websites don't give a fuck if you're behind a VPN, you might get cloudflare'd more often, you might not be able to register accounts, but you can still browse. It's not acceptable. Xkeeper is clearly crashing out, not mentally stable, behaving in a anti-preservationist way.

None of this has anything to do with pride shit. People would have just complained and moved on, same as every year, over and over, in every community. Most of the time it doesn't devolve into this type of situation. Xkeeper did that by escalating the situation beyond all historical norms.
