PlayStation 6 is Top of Sony’s Priorities Right Now, Says Sony CEO

The SIE president has recently stated that the PlayStation 6 is one of the top priorities for the platform’s future. With PlayStation 5 now close to 5 years old, players have started wondering about the platform’s future.

With the increase in cloud streaming and gaming, many players have wondered whether traditional consoles will be sidelined in favour of subscription-based services. Sony believes that cloud streaming has advantages; however, conventional consoles provide more control over network stability and are cost-efficient.

All those Sony fanboys that bought the PS5 still waiting for games is looking mighty dumbfounded right now. But who am I kidding? They will still buy the PS6 and pretend the last one was just as good as the previous PlayStations.

As someone who owns a PS5, and bought it because we were at the point in the console lifecycle where last gen usually stops getting games - fuck no I'm not buying a PS6. If anything I expect that once the PS6 comes out is when the PS5 will start getting fucking games, owing to how dev times are ludicrous these days, and unless there's both a massive leap in performance and a price drop in components, I unironically can't see the PS6 being less than a grand. You just know someone at Sony sees the Switch 2 selling for $800 and thinking "ours is better, so it should cost more!"

I just bought a PC that can run my Steam backlog instead. Least I can upgrade that piecemeal.

And this is what the industry fail to understand. They will push indie games and retro games while pushing 4k with RT and HDR10++ at 90fps, without realising that most people don't give a fuck about 4k and RT and just want good games at affordable hardware.

You can build a PC that runs 1080p ultra @ 90fps for the price of a PS5. Games are cheaper and don't require £100/year to use the online features.

Some admit that they haven't played anything before the PS4. Others just say the games on PS1, PS2 and Ps3 were boring, too ugly, didn't have enough going on, no replay-ability. Oh they will but currently they are losing a lot of third party to even the freaking Switch 2. FF remake trilogy is confirmed for the Switch 2 and Microsoft, so they have probably lost the exclusivity now. After Stellar Blade too no company in their right mind would take exclusivity from Sony because even Microsoft gives a better deal with PC port too.

I cannot remember the generation I think it was ps3 when they lost a ton of third party because their coding was so ass but looks like history is repeating itself. I also want to see their overall finances because I bet they are not looking great.

Sounds funny. I guess they could argue the games didn't look good, I mean it's retarded but I guess zoomer graphics whore retards exist. But the games were anything but boring and we're literally built with replayability in mind more than most games today. Some games were simple, but games now aren't exactly complicated either, just bloated.

Who's the market for premium consoles? Anyone that cares about FPS and graphics is going to be on a PC. A 300 dollar console that plays games at 1080p60 is good enough for a normie audience.

Yep. As much as I like the Playstation 5, I've had my fair share of criticisms regarding the way Sony has handled themselves this generation. It's much like how the Left deals with criticism as a whole. Playstation fanboys simply can NOT get that dick out of their mouths.

Nintendo is the only company from the last 10-15 years that even knows what an exclusive is anymore. “Timed Exclusive” at least makes sense since it refers to temporary exclusivity, but everything else is just different arbitrary definitions to try to classify something as an exclusive when it isn’t.

It's weird because Ryan and Hulst are two sides of the same coin, with Ryan being the one to greenlight 90% of the absolute garbage currently happening, including a lot of Hulst's bullshit, and is literally the one who gave Hulst enough of a spotlight to lead to him being in charge, but he's super insistent that Ryan was completely different and any criticism of Ryan is an endorsement of Hulst.
