I can't see Bioware surviving this when multiple retailers had MEA 15% off less than a week after release. I've never seen that ever, even with games that were widely considered to be duds.

The sole advantage of being an EA affiliate instead of an independent studio is their survival is no longer tied to any game's profitability.

If the sales are as bad as people are reporting (and I'm not sure it is), EA will likely just deem the Mass Effect brand dead and throw it in the bin like Dead Space. Bioware Montreal will just develop whatever new IP the Edmonton office dreams up (if EA continues to try to milk the Bioware label) or just code whatever shovelware EA decides needs making.

I heard much the same about the Gamestop and several local retailers near me as well. Hoping to cash in off the hype, and got shafted. If I pick it up, I doubt I'll pay more than twenty bucks for it.

Well I looked into it and apparently shes a pretty big deal if you follow most of the "nerd grrl cosplay lewds" stuff, like Alison Rapp or Momokun. She regularly attends PAX and other cons, has a facebook group, deviantart page, prints page, patreon etc etc, I didn't even know who she was, but apparently this "lewd cosplay" thing is a growing online market. I'm currently trying to find out if anyone from Bioware follows her or has taken a photo with her at a con.

If you don't have a Twitter account it's hard to find out who is following who and who is liking photos. So far there is some massive crossover between hardcore Bioware fans and Cosplayer groups and Cosplay fans. And the Bioware team themselves are very supportive of Cosplay fandom. I haven't found any obvious direct connection so far. Although it could be a Bioware employee that has a secret "lewd poster" account.

Or it could just be a giant co-incidence that a badly modelled Jayde Rossi looks like Piggynukka, but then it doesn't explain then how the male was modelled completely fine.

I mean shit, Ryder's female face looks so fucking terrible and as Dunkey said, the dumbest face ever engineered by mankind. Not exactly the biggest compliment to someone you want to model your face after. But I wouldn't put it past some thirsty SJW animator to try and get points with a hot cosplayer by making them the main female lead in the game. Because Ryder looks absolutely nothing like the model they used her face off of.

It's very possible that Sara was based off Jayde but then it was modified to appease to SJWs. Whether or not they specifically modded her to look like Piggynukka remains to be seen. It could have been an accident though, but holy fuck do they look similar, if not outright identical.

But I mean the line of the jaw, the way her face dimples with her smile....it has to be human pattern recognition. Nobody is this stupid, this pathetic, not even at Bioware. There are things I can believe, but I struggle that even Bioware was this stupid and incompetent not to notice that their main protagonist didn't look like the model they hired. I mean, she doesn't, at all. But this is some next level shit.

There's a possible explanation: they intentionally uglied up the female models. It's been discussed here that there's a possibility that they deliberately made the female faces fugly to appease to SJWs and snowflakes.

It's very possible that Sara was based off Jayde but then it was modified to appease to SJWs. Whether or not they specifically modded her to look like Piggynukka remains to be seen. It could have been an accident though, but holy fuck does they look similar, if not outright identical.

That explanation just makes the most sense to me (despite the above with me going all hyperbolic). If you look at Rossi, she has a very vaguely similar lines along her jaw and mouth to both Ryder and the cosplayer. Not to mention the French version of the game had a better Ryder before it was patched out. The thing is the model uglied up enough looks like the cosplayer. Which I mean, the cosplayer isn't ugly, just the model is so fucking terrible. But yeah, it is really eerily similar.

ME has TERRIBLE lighting, animation and modeling so it isn't a shock that the uglied up Ryder looks like a completely different person.

I think that glamour shot everyone was passing around when they made the announcement was misleading - you can't see the goblin nose as well from the front. Rossi also has much more similar lips to Ryder than the cosplay chick.

Does anyone know who was the reference for the original (and IMO much better) Ryder model?
