I think that if the Iranian people are given the right conditions there is a real chance, the reason why I am rosey is because the crown prince Reza Pahlavi is alive and very active in the diaspora/ disadent community. He has also been very clear that he wants to help Iran transition to a democracy but if the people decide that he will have no real power or elect him president or whatever then he will respect their wishes and will. For me that seems like a proper plan and transitional system. When nations have that they tend to succeed. The arabs tend to over throw the governments and not think beyond that. It's why Israel has been successful but the Palestinians never have been. The Israelis (through the zionist congressess) sat down and put thought and effort into making a state, the Palestinians never created such a mechanism.

It's about creating the correct conditions. Look if you told me the USA was leading the show I would 1000% agree, because we don't think beyond "democracy good" or "only dictatorships". But it seems like Israel is leading this one, and they I trust. The Israelis NEED a stable Iran for their own survival. The USA just wants a country that won't tell them no.

As much as I hate to admit it, Iran is the probably one of the most formidable opponents which would lead to a good number of American lives getting lost (even if we end up as winners) and I love my country not wanting a lot of US soldiers to die. Usually if Israel feels confident to do those strikes than they should be confident fighting Iran themselves.

Iran would take 3rd place in middle eastern power while the turks and jews can fight for 1st place.

Yeah it's always been shit from what he told me when he was my roommate. He was perhaps one of the most anti-Iranian people I ever met, and he hated the Iranian people too. I think some of it is that he feels the Azeris are being suppressed in Iran, Iran supporting Armenia (or saying they would), and that he just hates Islamists in general. Was worried for him for a moment, but hey, he seems to be having the time of his life.
