This guy's politics, taste in music and taste in games run fairly parallel to my own. And I STILL can't sit through one of his videos. That's kind of impressive. In this video he lost me at that first "YAAA KNOOOWWWW..." IOW immediately.

I thought Karen and by extension Honey Badgers Brigade was a bit more discerning. I'm not completely on board the MRA crazy train, but I do think some of them (like Karen) have many valid points to make. Eh, can't win 'em all.

While I've said before I'm a fan of the guy and his work, there is one thing about him I cannot stand, and that is his downright childish attitude towards metal fans who aren't of the same taste as himself. His reason for hating Death Metal, for example?

Because apparently all Death Metal fans are fat and thus throw off the t-shirt sizes at metal concerts.

Oh yeah, and his blanket dismissal of the entire mediums of Japanese animation and manga (making a special exemption for some obscure-ass series he watched as a kid) because "muh derivative" which is always bad except when it's something he likes, hence the spade up his ass over The Witcher franchise. Seriously, the guy is absolutely obsessed with keeping track of "who wuz furst" across mediums, and while he MAY have a point with The Witcher, he does so with such obnoxious, grating frequency it's becoming insufferable. We get it Razor, The Witcher's basis might have been in some obscure ripoff of the Elric novels. NO ONE CARES, including Elric's creator, who DROPPED THE LAWSUIT YEARS AGO.

Oh yeah, and Jugulator is shit, which you'd admit were your raging hard-on for Tim Owens even slightly contained.

That aside, I still find him extremely entertaining (his videos obliterating The Amazing Atheist and MovieBob were excellent), you just have to run a bias filter on the guy the size of a fucking ocean liner.

It's common for people to make up arbitrary reasons to justify their own preferences, to give the false impression that their opinion is fact.

Not common, unless you're talking about neckbeard internet forums like the metal archives. Those forums aren't very big; metal archives has 10 members online at the time of writing, and it's rarely many more than that. The community isn't dominated by obsessives, but the ones there are are incredibly annoying.

Oh, I see. I'm asking because I saw Adam Buckley (the "A Dose of Buckley" canuck) complain about the exact same thing about metalheads on his "Babymetal" video. I have no personal experience dealing with metal fans, to be honest.

Buckley's a bit of a lolcow himself. I haven't watched anything by him in years, but he thought plastic guns were going to be used in terrorism and that nations should embargo India because some people got raped there. I wouldn't take his opinion seriously on anything.

There are definitely people who get mad over Babymetal, particularly on Reddit and YouTube comments, but most people just ignore them. I'm concerned as to what will happen to them when they get retired, though, given that they're a manufactured band. I'm not sure if they have the rest of their lives planned or if they'll go astray.

Babymetal is cringeworthy trash, (no Rob Halford, you do not count as legitimate cred for anything since you left Priest) but it's not anything worth getting mad over.

Halford came back to Priest later, and I don't really care if he likes Babymetal or not. I'm more interested in the music someone makes than what he likes and doesn't like, and I understand why Babymetal has a gimmick appeal. It's a funny idea at first, though there are much better Japanese bands with female members.

Agreed that Buckley is an idiot, though I don't think his non-political content is much more entertaining to be honest.

I do think people ITT are overreacting to the line about death metal fans being fat. I mean, it seemed pretty clear to me that it was a joke, much in the same way one would poke fun at power metal fans for their latent homosexuality or djent fans for being a bunch of poindexter fucks. Razorfist has enough actually retarded opinions without getting offended over his attempts at humor.

People don't always know the reasons for their preferences. He probably doesn't have a strong reason.

I like Razor contents, more when his channel was dedicated to games and movies, now it's awfully coming closer to a full blown ranter channel. Seems like he's purposefully doing political stuff and associating with certain people which no doubt help with the views. Specifically AmazingAtheist and then StefanMolyneux, which does make me wonder how a seemingly smart guy like him would fall for those lolcows considering the abundance of evidences on them. He does have this problem of taking every opportunity to shit on his fans if they make any criticism which can get annoying. I can't make a concrete argument on this, but the dude do at times seem to enjoy making racial jokes at the expense of blacks.

He hasn't gone off the edge, but subscriber counts can give a false sense of security and ego. He still have the opportunity to reel it back.

Yeah his constant Right wing radio talk show points are getting really really boring. I can tolerate it when it's relavent to gaming culture or some such subject but I really don't give a shit about why he hates John Mcain. Why would I watch that when I don't watch michael [not gay] Savage who does it better?
