Yom Kippur definitely was way more spearheaded as a communist effort to destroy Israel, so it makes sense that King Hussein, who was never really aligned with the USSR and had his fill of the Palestinians after Black September, wanted nothing to do with it. You can also argue that the Egyptians were at least somewhat successful, as they were able to reduce the efficacy of the IAF through their air defense system and were able to hold on to at least parts of the eastern bank of the Suez Canal, as opposed to the Syrians, who completely ate shit.Jordan threw its weight in late in the game, after Syria and Egypt had mostly been bloodied as a means of trying to force Israel to negotiate rather than go double-or-nothing for bigger gains against Syria and Egypt. Jordan also allegedly gave Israel warning that the Syrians were prepping for another chimpout beforehand, so the game the Jordanians playing was a very complicated one.
That war also in large part helped to hobble the US automotive industry because OPEC's oil embargo against nations that supported Israel created a market opening for more fuel efficient Japanese cars in the US and it also led to the Egyptians starting to drift away from the Soviet sphere.
