I meant it more or less stopped them moving about. Jews in general stopped migrating everywhere and anywhere, remaining rather static.Besides european jewish refugees, ex-soviet jews fleeing poverty and expelled arab jews did any other jews move to israel?
As for the question of Jews moving to Israel, here's a handy table (thumbnailed as not to annoy a certain someone) but pre-1980, a lot of Eastern (not Russian) European Jews moved there, and with a chunk from West Europe.

There's a quasi-religious aspect to Marxism due to it's ultimately utopian nature. Present-suffering doesn't matter if so long you get to see the day true communism is achieved, the state is dismantled, and you're given your plot of land and you're free to do as you choose. This is probably the mindset of Western Marxist "converts" (intentional word choice).Marxists
Marxism, achieved to its fullest extent, comes ultimate freedom.
― Karl Marx, The German Ideology / Theses on Feuerbach / Introduction to the Critique of Political EconomyFor as soon as the distribution of labour comes into being, each man has a particular exclusive sphere of activity, which is forced upon him and from which he cannot escape. He is a hunter, a fisherman, a shepherd, or a critical critic and must remain so if he does not wish to lose his means of livelihood; while in communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, to fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticize after dinner, just as I have in mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, shepherd or critic.
(This is where the "What will do when communism is achieved?" "Painter!" thing comes from in essence)
What I meant by Marxists not caring for where they live is meant more in the sense they feel no connection to where they live. Tradition/history/culture doesn't matter because it's all built with the intent to oppress, it is an evil by the bourgeoisie (and the aristocracy before them) to main control over the masses and advance their own personal material condition. Everything that has been done (laws, system of government, the roles of people in society) is all in facilitation of one thing: oppression. Doesn't matter if it's America, or Israel, the existence of the state is anathema to good because the state is designed to oppress. That's the basic summary of Marxist though.
Jews only lobby in one country for Israel: America. Their influence everywhere else is just an indirect result of America's influence everywhere else consequently. If America decided Israel needed to be wiped off the face of the Earth tomorrow, Europe would condemn such rhetoric before doing nothing to stop it. That's admittedly just hyperbole. A demotion of Israel in American strategic interests and removal from the NATO "friends" list would render Israel like any other state in the Middle East for the most part. Israel also never outright initiated conflict with anyone prior to the 80s, which doesn't give it enough consistent precedent to label it a rogue state. To become a rogue state Israel would first need to consistently make threats towards its neighbours (which it doesn't do) in conjunction to violating international law (how you feel about Palestinians and other circumstances might have you go one way or the other here).Quite the contrary its thanks to the jews elsewhere lobbying for israel that keep that state from being labelled a rogue nation not unlike north korea. Could also be argued that more liberal jews who believe israel should exist just not at the expense of other countries and condemn the atrocities are what keeps most people from thinking israelies/jews are the nazis of the middle east, just like the assyrians once were.
Liberal Jews not in Israel also constantly bemoan the colloquial "atrocities", they tend not to go as far as saying Israel needs to be destroyed and the Jews eradicated.
Israel is essentially just the Congo of the Middle East, with as many divided and messy sides in a conflict. They're just important enough to America to constantly be a main target of focus. It doesn't help that, alongside AIPAC giving money to keep people positive and helpful, it's a relatively easy gig for a US politician to say "I love Israel" / kiss the wailing wall and get given 200k+ in donations from AIPAC. American politicians and the parties themselves benefit from the existence of AIPAC, much the same way Israel being under threat in a similar vein benefits them via aid which sort've subsidises the armoury of the Israeli army (as well as enrich American arm manufactures, who said aid has to be mostly used on.
