Its like people who forget to park a car and try to physically stop it. For some reason people just cant comprehend that a car in gear isn't getting moved by a human being in any direction it isn't already moving

I want America to stay out of wars more than I want to prevent Iran from getting a nuke. There's already Islamic nations with nuclear weapons and they haven't used them. Most Islamic states have access to some pretty hardcore biological/chemical weapons and they dont use those either. They've been telling the lie that "we fight them over there so we dont have to fight them over here" since long before I was born. Its not like Iran is using gain of function research to develop viruses designed to wipe out most of humanity.

A decent post about a potential ground invasion of Iran, and why it almost certainly won't happen.


America would need to deploy hundreds of thousands of troops to match a Desert Storm level of force, with a much smaller army than in 1991 or 2003. America has a fairly small number of combat units for it's size, but the immense cost comes from being able to use most of them as an expeditionary force, which no other country currently comes even close to matching.

This will also take months, cannot be concealed, and will be deathly unpopular the entire time. I've already explained earlier that IMO, Israel is simply paving the way for US bombers to finish the job without risk of losses.
