Game looks great. It's very sandbox-y, but there's more depth (no pun intended) than it seemed at first.

*Edit* Actually I watched it after posting this, and it doesn't look that bad. That was just my gut reaction to hearing something is a sandbox style game because I'm kind of sick of everything being made into open-world sandbox style games.

Hmmm... big open environment to explore where you collect treasure, transform into weird shit, kick the shit out of enemies, and destroy walls and stuff. It reminds me of something, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

Still not a big fan of the overall look and designs. I am sure it will be a decent Odyssey-like, but it feels off for a DK game. It needs more of a masculine appeal, I guess? The coloring is way too bright and I hate the new "modern coloring" style which is all purple and pink lighting. Wish the game had those darker jungles and factories of old DK. Not entirely sure I like DK's characterization either, he has always been a little silly, but this feels like it is trying to hard.

Also, R.I.P. K. Rool cucks, it doesn't look like he is coming back. Nintendo seems to be using this title to purge the old DK, retconning the original DK being Cranky.

Nintendo of Korea fucked up and leaked it the week the game was revealed so everyone but you was already spoiled anyway.

There was someone making a promising F-Zero style game but he abandoned it for pixel shit game that been in beta since 2020. And even then he only even talked about his old F-Zero fan game because of F-Zero 99. I think XF Extreme Formula is still being worked on, made by the same guy who made Spark the Electric Jester (2 is not on there for some reason but it is on Steam). Man beat Sega at their own game and now he wants to beat Nintendo. Anyway, 21-22 years since the last real, mainline F-Zero game. Painful.

There's also Fast RMX on the switch 1, which saddly never got ported anywhere else, and apparently just got a sequel for the Switch 2 called Fast Fusion? A Third Party Dev is going out of their way to give Nintendo exclusives and they don't even bother to advertise them.

You don't hate them enough. Incidentally this is how bullshit worms its way into Wikipedia -- all someone has to do now is write an article (or add to an existing one) mentioning this, cite a few of these shitbag content mills, and it becomes "truth" there. Fucking ridiculous.

Ross Scott (of Stop Killing Games fame) observed an annoying example of this when he covered an old game called "Quarantine" on Ross's Game Dungeon. Because of a glitch in the game he needed a cheat code to get to the last level to show it off in the episode, but every site he searched showed an incorrect code. He took a few guesses and actually figured out the correct code, then searched for that online, and it didn't appear anywhere. So one site originally picked up/received/posted the wrong code, and the rest just literally copied it.

Fact checking is dead. Every one of these sites is essentially a mirror of the others. The only distinguishing factor among them is the wording of their "gamers/men/attractive women bad, trannies good!" articles.
 
So are people generally a fan of running around with the little girl with the melodramatic backstory who sings on your shoulders? I think the mechanics look fun, but could have done without that and it makes me cringe a bit. Just give me "This monkey is angry because his bananas have been stolen" and let me destroy a bunch of shit. I also felt that one of the best parts of BOTW was the lack of story and people complained about that, so maybe I'm just old and out of touch.

I love everything about Bananza except the Pauline shit, which I dislike everything about. The voice acting, the focus on singing and vocal songs even in gameplay mechanics, her dialogue constantly interrupting gameplay, the fact that she’s a little girl with a focus on dressing her in different outfits (I checked the /vg/ thread and everyone’s just talking about “loli Pauline” :cryblood:). Being able to set the voices to Japanese will make or break my enjoyment.
 
Yeah, DK is another tech demo in the line of Odyssey. The new villains feels like a generic reskin of some of the old DK Crew. And "Stuff Shop?"

Edit: Die in a fire, EPD8 deniers, the game literally uses parts of the Odyssey UI, its practically Odyssey 2.

So the numbers are out and the shit2 is a complete hit far surpassing nintendo's sales expectations. All despite the high price, the defects, the lineup being mostly old games, the insane DRM....................gamers just eat shit with a spoon nowadays.
