I thought it was around the same time. I never followed Iron Man much at least in the comics and just remember Tony Stark dying and some 15 year old genius making a suit of armor in her bedroom and becoming the new Iron Man only for Tony to come back and she's now Ironheart. No, that new warriors bullshit was from 2020(and why it was so laughably stupid even the left thought it was ridiculous). Ironheart is the result of the work prior to that (2015 I think?) trying to ape the success of Miles Morales(2011).
I seriously can't keep up with how much things change in comic books now.
That was the excuse they gave but I'm pretty sure had there been no endless mocking of it online it would have gone forward. And for a while Marvel was sticking to their guns but then came COVID and it felt way too convenient.Sure, and hilariously covid is what got it cancelled, not even just the backlash. Distribution got put on hold with the lockdowns a few weeks before it was supposed to ship. I assume that a few hundred copies eventually found their way into a shredder and then recycled into cardboard.
I still want to see the first issue through or some bits from it because it would be hilariously bad.
The idea is that if you're a marginalized group you can use those terms, symbols or images because you're "taking them back" but if you're outside of that you can't.I love how woketards whine about racism but then their characters could have walked straight out of an A. Wyatt Mann cartoon.
It's like how "Snowflake and Safespace" were designed. They supposedly were taking these names that were negative and trying to put a positive spin on them. It's no different than a gay man calling his fellow gay friends, "faggots" but if somebody else were to call them that it would be a hate crime.
