This has always been a problem and will always be a problem. I think it was Susei who tried to sell merch to members only, and I honestly support this kind of thing. It's not perfect, and would only work until the scalpers caught on and did a cost/benifit analysis, but it's a start.

If a true fan is willing to pay 2 or 3 times the cost of a ticket, they are willing to shell out 5 bucks a month. Maybe make it member of the official holo channel for two monthes, so scalpers can't just member and buy 5 minutes later.

Yeah, it sounds bad, but would you rather spend 20 dollars supporting a company that provides you entertainment, or several hundreds extra because some scalper asshole is adding that mark up to the ticket?

I understand where you are coming from but I think professional scalpers are a bigger problem than fans group buying tickets. Ideally, stuff like this shouldn't even be possible in the first place. Cover should really look at a lottery system similar to Fes for future concerts in the US rather than giving their business to Evil Incarnate Ticketmaster. I do realize it isn't that simple a lot of the time due to Live Nation's vertical integration of owning the venues and the ticketing but this is more or less a solved problem in Japan.

That's one of many options they could implement. For example, I think you had to have an active Nintendo Online account (or something like that) to preorder the Swtich 2. I think most people would rather light money on fire than give scalpers a dime so having to be an active member wouldn't be a problem for like 99% of fans.

LA has four times the population of Seattle, so more people are likely to come.

Phase doing their own con also brings the question of cost. Even if they want to do it on the west coast, I’d imagine most larger and non-shitty venues are quite expensive. I would be curious how the venue costs would compare to Texas in the Dallas/Houston/Austin area.

Seattle was where CHAZ happened. It's just as bad as big Cali cities.

Somewhere in Washington, or maybe even Oregon could be workable, but personally I'd aim for a mid-sized city at the largest, since anything big would have the same issues as mid-to-big Cali cities.
