Iran hates America for incredibly uncomplicated and petty reasons. They want us dead because we have burgers with bacon and don't have to fast once a year for a month. There is also a degree of jealousy that Iran can trace it's history back thousands of years but is still a backwater while America is 250 years old and is the police department of the world. They sincerely hate Israel as well and our alliance with them is just fuel on the fire but if Israel disappeared tomorrow Iran would still be chanting "death to America".

There is a legit thing in the Muslim world where Mohammed was supposed to be the last prophet and to deliver Allah's final message to humanity, but the followers of that message have been completely left behind by most of the world. Canada had a similar "iran can never have a nuke" but was surprisingly restrained on the trump seething compared to most of europe.

In short it's something that everybody clearly knew had to be done but wanted to do it through "diplomacy, negotiation, the united nations" and other meaningless HR department nonsense. Now that trump actually did it they're talking about "de-escelation" and other meaningless crap.

Way i see it: United States fulfilled its role as the world police in a way that everyone knew was necessary and all the people who had absolutely no practical solutions are acting like they're above it and will continue to say america is a bunch of mean poopyheads but in reality they won't do shit.

We never left the post cold war era. There's going to be no multi polar order, everybody seems to still know damn well that US hegemony is the only option for world stability and as such the US will be able to do whatever the fuck it wants as long as it has a leader with 1/10th of an ass.
