When it means naming it gives you the ability to deal with it. If you only speak the name of your enemy through metaphor and never directly name them, you never have the ability to deal with them in the real world. I could be misreading the situation, but this seems like a big deal, and I think it will lead to something big. Been seeing some cope and seethe over the strikes. People are claiming that the IRGC was able to evacuate all the equipment and cascades and thus the strike didn't do or mean anything. Upon closer inspection, it looks like they had trucks actually filling in the base.
Remember, Iran never thought Trump would actually strike the site and there was real talk about Mossad special forces going in with boots on the ground to take out Fordow the hard way. It was part of the deception that played out on the world stage. Mind you all of this is taking place while Khamenei is hiding in his bunker, leadership, command and communication are in chaos and people are evacuating Tehran. If I am second in command, given the signs I am seeing, it makes sense why they would fill in the bunker as opposed to evacuating the site with all the equipment.
I don't think there was time to coordinate a proper evacuation of the site and if IAF has near full control of the skies, I am not risking sending a convoy of my $200,000-a-pop centrifuges on the road where they can get blown up by drones or missiles. Its far easier to get some dump trucks, fortify positions and hope for the best. Im 99% certain the HEU is gone to a safe and secure storage but its plausible all 3000 centrifuges have been destroyed and that filling in the entrance actually helped the MOPs be more destructive with overpressure. Never underestimate Islamic stupidity.

I always kind of wonder about that. Even with the improved GE F110 engines the F-14B's were always felt to be a bit underpowered. And the F-35's single P&W F135 puts out more thrust than the F-14's 2 engines. On what I presume to be a lighter airframe?

What set of circumstances here is any different than the last times that these things happened that would necessitate the situation to go in a different direction?
Iranians as a whole genuinely want the regime gone. But unless Israel and the US have been sending in agents to train resistance groups to fight strategically and give them arms, that's not happening. Do you not know that there was no huge war that ended the Eastern Bloc regimes? Eventually, public support for them completely collapsed and they really had no choice but to allow free elections. That's the way we would hope Iran would go. Out of all anti-American dictatorships (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and China), Iran would be the most primed to have that kind of situation. But we'll just have to wait and see.

Them condemning the Israeli and American strikes is pure Kabuki Theater and lip service. Most of them DO NOT want Iran with a nuclear weapon. Least of all the Saudi's. They are perfectly happy to let the US and da Joo's deal with the issue so they can keep their hands clean to avoid any problems with the radicals at home. Why are you surprised oct 7th happened because Saudi was about to normalize relations with israel and Hamas/Iran did everything they could to halt that, it will take a while once Iran is neutralized and has different regime where they can no longer threaten the kingdom of Saudi for wanting to normalize relation with jews.
Abbas Araghchi is still in Russia and soon we will know how much Russia willing to help them.
