You know for a narcissist, him being content with destroying/abandoning "games" he's made seems rather out of character, or is it merely a tactile admission that he has no faith in anything he makes and he knows it's all trash and streaming allows him to stroke his ego in a far greater capacity than making games every could.

I like to think that he's mad because his genius method of making a game 'unpiratable' doesn't really fit with the idea of game preservation, but it's probably not that deep and he's just trying to appear clever by being contrarian.
Goldberg fully emulates chievos. Pirates once again get the best experience, with the ability to reset the game and play fresh.

Ross Scott, a guy who has never claimed to be an authority on software development, but he actually had a better understanding than this guy of software development pipelines, and this really makes it show.
That's the funny inverse correlation between wisdom and humility. The more confident you are that you know everything, the less likely you'll be to go looking for answers.

I realise this is going to be yet more -poasting in the eyes of some, but I do want to reiterate this point with another status update on the tracker. In just under 5 hours since that initial post of mine, the initiative has accrued another almost 9 thousand signatures, and as we speak the ticker seems to be increasing by a rate of at least one signature every three seconds or so.

View attachment 7554697View attachment 7554699

Not long prior to this, Belgium also became the 8th country (out of the 7 minimum required) to have surpassed its own signature threshold. France and Spain are following very closely to be the 9th and 10th countries to do so, being just short at the moment by about 1,600 and 2,000 signatures respectively.

View attachment 7554651View attachment 7554653

Even other countries which were previously lagging behind a harder have been picking up the pace now. Romania, for example, has gone up from the 55.5% it had some time last night, to just over 60% at this current moment, following the addition of about 1,100 signatures in the last 16 hours.

This is a good post. I can understand people being statistically doomeristic, deferring to probable precedent, but that sort of thinking turns a probable loss into a definite one. Something merely likely to fail becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy if you choose to have no faith in it, and so it behooves people to believe in it because that spurs motivation to do more legwork.

Rather, I think the premature belief that nothing can ever go right is ironically a huge part of why nothing ever does. It costs you nothing to believe that good things can happen. Quite the contrary, emotion is inertial - the more you push yourself to be hopeful, the easier it becomes to be hopeful in the future, and the opposite is true as well.

Yes, he knows he isn't very skilled.

Speaking of lacking in skills, I kind of want to see whether the average kiwi on here is actually smarter than mald?

Below are 3 of the same type of puzzles in blue prince.

the rules are:

1. there are 3 boxes and the player must deduce the single box that contains the gem.
2. Atleast 1 box contains statements that are all false
3. Atleast 1 contains statements that are all true

puzzle 1:

puzzle 2:

puzzle 3:

Mald failed all of these puzzles btw(I didnt even nitpick, these are all from the same stream lmfao), if you kiwis can get atleast 1/3, you're smarter than a 3 TIME DEFCON WINNER!

I will post a followup with answers in a few hours if you guys attempt this lol. Btw, because Mald failed, the true answer isn't revealed on stream, but I'm pretty sure I've deduced the answer to each box lol

I'm not going to get my hopes up too high as I imagine the rate of new signatures will slow down drastically after a week or so, but if SKG pulls a miracle comeback specifically off of hate for Jason I'm gonna lose my mind laughing. Jason haters will have done more good for the games industry than Jason's whole career.
If (🌈🌈🌈) SKG does pass, it'll be very interesting to see how Mald will spin his involvement. Will he try to claim the drama he caused by being so critical of it was totally what helped it succeed at the eleventh hour? Or will he completely contradict himself and claim he wanted it to succeed all along?

its probably been said before, but meet your maker doesn't seem that hard to get a working version working online. I'm no expert on the game, but wouldn't it be as simple as fucking map sharing? maybe 5% of the game wouldn't work, but wouldn't the main gameplay loop work just fine? SKG is about that, even SEMI functional is better than 100% dead, so being able to JUST play a repository of maps seems a stupid easy solution. Doom and quake have been doing that for decades.

I can't tell if jason saying all this IS just being an industry shill, or so fucking retarded he can't conceptualize a couple minor design tweaks to make it work. I'm no coder but I've bug tested enough to know whats easier / harder 9 times out of 10, and simply accessing maps is a pretty easy ask.

also his arguement of it not being 100% the same = not preserving is retarded. Plenty of memes or images get preserved at a low resolution but at still non the less preserved, and thats better than nothing by a mile. Id rather have a bit crushed low res version than LITERALLY NOTHING.

also another relatively bigger youtuber is covering it

Puzzle 1: The right box has to be true since all boxes contain words, no gems there. The left box is false since the word longest is not the longest word, which means the box which doesnt have the longest word has the gems, since the condition of the middle box "The shortest word has the gems" is fuliflled on both middle and left. Answer is left
Puzzle 2: The right box says that the false statetment has the gems and that the left box is all true, while the left box says it has the gems which contradicts the right box as that would make it a true statement and have the gems. If the right box is neither fully true or false, it could be that the blue box statetments are true, while the gems are in a box with true statetments, that would make the left box the full true box and the middle the fully false box. The left has the gems.
Puzzle 3: Im assuming that both the statetments on the black box are not true, which means the top statetment of the white box is true while the bottom one is not. The left box has all true statetments, this way all conditions are met and the gems are in the middle box

You think you hate Jason enough, but you don't.
I dunno, he's a Blizzard nepo baby hire, and this is exactly what I would expect from modern day Blizzard
I do think Ross should lean into the drama angle and step on this degen's back until the very last day, keeping it fresh in everybody's mind. All the Hasan, Idubbbz, Anisa, Klein drama has been gotten some real airtime since really kicking off in April, and the furfag is a really hateable character, along with his taint licking gunt guards. Having somebody to hate may actually light a fire under people's asses to keep signing.
I would go a step further and try to actually set up a good ol' bloodsports stream between the two by a neutral party, maybe Keemstar, to get even more coverage. Ross is a nice guy, but I have a feeling he's pissed at him enough that he would passively-agressively tear Figboy in half. Maldy has no legs to stand on and everyone hates him, it would be a fantastic stream that would bring even more eyes on the initiative and Keemstar is a clout chasing gnome so of course he would greenlight it.
Someone like Metokur would also do wonders for getting the message out, that is if Jim can stop simping for vtubers for a few seconds. I know he hates the modern game industry and often rants about it in even his modern streams/twitter posts. Speaking of which, if you want to reach out to a crowd of people who are heavily on the internet and love video games, a vtuber interview would also be great. Kirsche is the pick-me girl of the week, but any with a large following will do. Might be a culture shock for poor old Ross to meet one, tho.
This is how Ross needs to start thinking if he wants this to succeed. It's clear he tried his best to go about it the "proper way" but that just isn't enough. His run-in with Jason should have made it abundantly clear by now.

I may be forgetting but has he ever been asked specifically about private servers? I find his logic really fucking funny when he also brags about being a Blizzard employee, the company that made WoW, a game which had probably the earliest and biggest private servers developed for them because people wanted to play the game, even if it wasn't 100% perfect.

Absolutely, the only thing the community probably couldn't emulate was the progression that relied on your maps being raided (if I recall correctly). From what I've seen, the game is quite poor, but it's worth preserving even for the few who still like the game.
Also, only tangentially related (both MYM and this game were published by Behaviour, known for Dead by Daylight), the game Island of Insight also started out as a faux-MMO (I hesitate to call it an actual MMO, it was a "shared space" where you just solved puzzles), but it also sold like ass so the devs made it work fully offline and the community fixed it up, since it had issues. Mald, despite being an autistic sperg himself, vastly underestimates how much work communities who like the games put in so they can play it in the best way possible. If The Crew remained downloadable to this day, I'm sure there'd already be a community server with a one-click install by now, even.

Puzzle 1. Box A is untruthful because Shortest is a longer word than Longest. Box C is truthful because all three boxes have words on them, therefore the gems can only be in box A, because the gems can neither be in box B (gems are not in the box with the longest word) nor box C (gems are not in this box)

I'm too busy to do the other two but I invite anyone else to try
