There's a reason Eurofurence banned all diaper-related stuff. This is proof that more cons need to take that as an example, regardless of the flak they got from babyfurs acting like babies and the enablers acting like delusional parents who think their kids can do no wrong. If more took that path, it would really benefit everyone.
Most furries can't stand babyfurs, and neither can most people outside the fandom. Maybe someday this common enemy will bring the two groups together, as much resentment as they have for each other. That's probably idiotically optimistic, but one can dream.

This. A lot of younger furries see this as an easy out or an alternative to working a normal job. My partner and I were fortunate enough to be around before the fandom became as oversaturated as it is today, and it was hard getting by on art back then. I genuinely cannot imagine trying that stunt today -- both of us later moved on to more traditional "real jobs" last decade. Too volatile.
Yeah but here's the thing, Bad Dragon actually has a shitload of reach far and wide outside of the fandom these days. Sure, that's technically their "core" demographic I guess but for the past few years the company has been flirting with mainstream adult/porn conventions with quite a lot of success (link is SFW). I think even Bad Dragon's money people know it's a bad idea to put all of your financial eggs in a basket full of customers whose incomes are uncertain, to say the least.

BBMBBF showed up (very briefly) on a message board I used to screw around on ~12 years ago. He didn't stay long because when he showed up I think he was expecting people to kiss his ass and instead people were like "lol who are you". I don't really remember how much he chimped out, I just remember him calling me a bitch or something and then he quit posting not long thereafter. He may have actually been banned.

TBF, people have done that to me, too, so I switched to the charge up front thing. It's not like I make much money, or even have that much for them to steal, but still, it sucks when they just steal the shit. My only hope is that the majority of pledges Jeph Jacques gets for Questionable Content are fake, too. God, I hate that fucking comic.

The main problem with relying on furries for money is that, while fools and their money are soon parted, many furries are such fools that they're unemployed autismal tards with little to no disposable income.
