For the record the I'm 90% sure the patch isn't out yet, it's coming alongside the Console release on July 15th. This is one of the rare times I haven't seen anyone sweeping for Void, and funnily it's the one change Void had to make.
For anyone not wanting to read the link, the main changes will be:
-Removal of body destruction on downed/dead enemies.
-Removal of Nudity on certain character models (Gerard Scott on Lethal Obsession and the women on Hide and Seek.)
-Removal of the overdosing animation for the child on Twisted Nerve, replaced with a sleeping animation for some reason.
-Toning down of gore in some static props (example given was a tortured cop on Narcos who will have a bit less blood on him, can be assumed Neon Tomb will suffer the same treatment.)
-Various not-mentioned changes they haven't gone into.

Knowing VOID, they don't make second thoughts. What they typed here, it is final.

Not gonna bother archiving these, but Gruntr, a dev, made some clarifying comments on Reddit.

TLDR: Dev's didn't like the changes either, but it was either changing it or canning the console launch, clearly one of those makes more sense than the other. Gruntr pushed for separate PC and Console versions so PC wasn't hit with the censorship changes, but it wasn't feasible. Gore will be revisited at a later time to see if they can revert or tone down the censorship, at least for PC. (Reminder, the censorship is only regarding the mutilation of downed/already dead suspects.) The kid in Twisted Nerve's animation was actually a left-over from the reveal trailer, and was just thrown on her and never replaced. Console will be getting extra censorship not applied to PC, mainly covering the fictional CP in some of the maps, as this is just texture differences it won't be applied to PC.

EDIT: If I have 4 hours into this, can I still get a refund for the fact that the product is no longer the same product as it was before?
Once it has reached 2 hours gameplay or 2 weeks has passed since your purchase, you can no longer refund it.

So, is the game still good or what? Devs are retarded, whatever, but would you still recommend it if I need my SWAT 4 fix?

If you need your SWAT 4 fix It's fine. It's a little more clunky to mange SWAT AI and suspect AI is somehow stupidly accurate at longer ranges and can't hit the broad side of the barn at close ranges but the core gameplay loop is otherwise the same. Overall I wouldn't say it's notably better or worse than SWAT 4.

As much as I and others bitch about Ready or Not, yeah it's a good game. All the complaints about AI, void themselves, and etc are very much deserved, but the game itself isn't bad by any means. The only note I have is that you shouldn't go into it thinking like a SWAT team, more like a Special Forces detachment with a really strict ROE. (kind of the same thing I know, but I think my point makes sense.)

Void will spend money on this shit, but the fucking anime girl tattoo you get for S-Ranking the swatting mission is still AI. Yaoifags, man, not even once.
TBH, I'm okay with AI art only in the context of the Pedo Streamer level. I feel bad for any commissioned artist having to draw stuff that'll end up in Micheal William's room...

VOID: "Alright, we need you to draw an anime girl."
Artist: "Sure."
VOID: *explains context*
Artist; ":("

Stupid as hell that they're censoring it for us PC players, but I'm sure that modders will create decensorship mods to restore the game to its original vision.
about right yeah, it's not like stellar blade where you can't pick a older build stuff and port it to the new one because it wasn't available for PC when it was censored.
So, is the game still good or what?
yes? if you played the early versions then it has more stuff now.
would you still recommend it if I need my SWAT 4 fix?
nope, it's more like squad with a bit more trigger discipline which means you play with the boys, solo is fine but i pity you.

I'm only just now hearing of the censorship issue. I read the negative steam reviews and a lot of it made it sound like the company did a bait and switch and went "woke". However, reading the bit from the dev on reddit it's the console companies that refused to let the game onto their platform? Am I understanding that right? I really don't want to contribute to the pussification of games but I do feel for a company that had this thrust on them at what seems like the last minute. Watching a little bit of the Wendigoon video makes it seem like this game would be my jam but I don't know how much they're toning down the game. The post mortem dismemberment change is a bizarre one to me. I finished Dead Island 2 a little while ago and I can turn a fully intact and defeated zombie into an oozing torso with an axe. I feel for them being put in this situation because they don't have money or clout. I guess not buying the game is not gonna stick it to Microsoft and Sony and only hurt the ones who actually put the work in. I don't know. I think I will get it since it's half off right now, I think.

pretty much for the most part. this is all because they want to get the game to consoles, The big thing however is that we dont know how much is being changed/removed from the game.
I can anticipate that they'll likely censor anything outright NSFW, like the crate in the last level or gerard scott's model for example, but nobody really knows what they're gonna change beyond whats already been said in their dev logs.
I would be surprised if community patches weren't being made right now in anticipation of the console release, so that PC players can mod back in the censored content.

The average IQ of stream reviewers continues to be sub-ape levels, not shocking.

I sort of feel bad for Void, I have plenty of issues with Void, but this is clearly a situation where they really had no choice really. For the first time there seems to be actual, hard pushback against Void for something, and it's over this shit. Not the delays, not the still present AI issues, not their near constant radio silence met by random bullshit, but the one thing that was actually forced upon them.
