Ready or Not - The 2nd video game to let you flash bang a small child

they all have to be retarded larper fanfiction Tom Clancy level shit.
Feel the same. But if you think about it, having +20 crack heads maintaining +3 houses/facilities of drug production and logistics at the same time they are completly impulsive and unhinged in the main game was pretty retarded to begin with, IDK why I (and others) expected any "logical" consistency with this game.

The crack heads are supposed to be a proxy of the Cartel. Maybe they have an expert from them come by so they can be productive but it's been a while since I played. The game is set in California which is a shithole anyways.

They also do the "slow gun drop" animation a lot more and is very annoying and time consuming, especially since one of the DLC missions is essentially on a timer.
I'm not sure if they fixed it, but one thing that was also annoying is that one of the new animations of slow-dropping a rifle has the perp slowly point his rifle in your direction and placing his left hand on the hand guard. My friends and I ended up shooting many, many perps who did this, and subsequently got penalized for "Unauthorized Force" because even though he pointed a rifle at us -- something that would get you shot by any branch of law enforcement -- the game declared that the suspect was "surrendering."

Here's a thread criticizing the feature along with an attached video.

Would you guys recommend this or Body Cam? I'm tempted to get Body Cam because it has a zombie mode.
I was watching a video about the zombie game mode. For a game about mimicking bodycam footage, how come there's no gore?

I have given up on the game because of the aggressive AI. I was hoping the devs end up fixing it, but it is clear to me now their vision differs from what they promised. Are there any mods that make the suspects behave like actual human beings?
You can start with FagxusMods. There are like 4 pages of them and about 2 or 3 of mods being highly endorsed by users you can try first.

didn't you have eco-terrorists in SWAT 4 trying to destroy some bio-research facility in one of the DLC missions?
I could be wrong on this, because I only ever completed SWAT 4 with the SEF mod, maybe that was a modded mission, but I always remember the maps in both games being similarly out there in concept. RoN definitely takes it up a notch that I can see some people not liking, but I never really considered both to be "realistic" in their tone.
I never understood how SWAT 4 got its reputation for being some uber-realistic tactical shooter on general internet discussions. I would absolutely agree the game feels smaller scale in all aspects, see Voll vs Fairfax, or even Ridgeline vs Fairfax. I can understand why people would be upset with that, but it doesn't feel like the drastic jump in tone that I hear people say it is, more like a logical* escalation in stakes that you'd see in a successor. To me, atleast.
the school shooting one has a good plot and map but why the fuck are there like 60 shooters and a bunch of bombs you have to defuse
the school shooting one was the only one I was able to get an S rank on. theres like 3-4 shooters scattered throughout the entire building and there was only a couple of bombs that I was never able to run the timer on, AFAIK. The fucking annoying part about it though is that you need to basically run through the level in under 2 minutes, I think, or else they start shooting civilians. The initial playthrough was fine for me just letting some kids die but It was really hard not to get annoyed when I actually shot for an S, and start hearing gunshots and see "-300 CIVILIAN KILLED" when you think you've cleared every part of the level.

*logical as in setting up the game to be "bigger" and "better", whatever the developers would think that means, not as a continuation of the existing story.

Religious Terrorist group that I mentioned before, Army of Faith and they raid a genetic research facility focusing on stem cells and cloning type shit. It feels a lot more grounded than RoN and they feel more like a ragtag militia despite being more off the wall.

I really fucking hate how the discussion of this games lore on reddit and whatnot constantly mention the pedophile level/subplot. Its largely disconnected to other bits of the game lore wise and only takes place over the course of like three separate levels. Why is this the only thing people want to talk about? Its annoying, it makes discussion of this game's story unbearable.

Void Interactive have released an "AI Sentiment Survey" so if you want to speak your mind and have them (not) listen, now's your chance.

Lore discussions for this game are just completely off the wall retarded, especially when people will just state theories about MK Ultra USIA mind control and that Judge is some brainwashed super-soldier are factual and real lore of the game, I just lost interest in any actual discussion about it. Because of that, I doubt there's any actual deep meaning to the game despite Void's multiple failed attempts.

Apparently "Void makes every mission CP related" despite the fact that only like 4 missions have that subplot in them, rest are stuff like terrorists and cults.

If you go by achievements there are 'story arcs' for a few missions that share a common theme.
  • The War (AKA LA LS Ghetto Violence & Mexican Cartels)
  • The Abducted (AKA The Russian Mafia & Human Traffickers)
  • The Left Behind (AKA CIA USIA Schizos & Domestic Terrorists)
  • The Decaying City (AKA Mass Shooters & Foreign Terrorists)
  • The Exploited (AKA Chomos & Their Cheese Pizzas)
Only 4 missions in Ready or Not fall under The Exploited umbrella which is less than a quarter of the entire Ready or Not level list. Those levels actually deal with that topic directly.

Though, there is an in-universe connection between The Exploited and The Abducted levels so I guess that bloats the number of levels to 8? Port Hokan shows that Voll deals business with the Russian Mafia who in turn run the Human Traffickers. IRL Human trafficking and CP do sort of go hand-in-hand I mean that's kind of obvious, lol.

Personally I just wish there was more grounded levels. My personal favorites are: Thank You Come Again, Twisted Nerve, Ends of the Earth, Elephant, Valley of the Dolls, Relapse, etc. since they're levels you'd never really see in any other shooter game.

But as it seems now it appears DLC 3 will feature more levels of a local 5-man SWAT team inexplicably being pitted against Ex-SAS trained mercenaries. DLC 1 teased the UPF and then DLC 2 teased Black Sentinel (aka the PMC) so that's sort of the theme I get going on.

I don't know why they couldn't just make the player and his team FBI HRT instead of a local SWAT team? It would at least make the more fantastical levels make more sense. Or change your team depending on the level. Like maybe local LSPD SWAT is deployed to 'Thank You Come Again', FBI FISA HRT is deployed to 'Relapse', BORTAC BDRTAC is deployed to 'Rust Belt', Coast Guard is deployed to 'Leviathan', National Guard is deployed to '3 Letter Triad', etc.

I know Judge is related to the wider ARG and im pretty sure they want to expand on it with the DLC levels, I'd assume thats why they aren't doing separate teams and all that, Im also pretty sure they're trying to portray the federal government as the world's big bad as well, considering all the MKUltra/USIA shit. so if that's why they don't want to make you play as actual Feds, that's fine, but at the very least they ought to lean into the idea of "joint operations" and actually make it obvious in the map itself that they're not they only team, instead of having your squad basically operate in a vaccum.

Bit autistic, but there's a random detail I noticed; looking over the evidence locker, you'll notice that most of the evidence box tags tend to be written professionally. You know, listing the case, the official who sealed the evidence, the date the evidence was obtained, etc. There's one exception to this, however; the evidence box for the Elephant level, which has "FUCK IT" written 13 times on the tag along with "MY LITTLE BOY" on the top part of the same. If we're talking lore, it seems that one of the cops involved in the case, possibly the sealing official, Thomas Rudes, had a son that was involved in the case somehow; likely a victim.

Normies aren't used to being exposed to diddlers like KF users are. It's also pretty unique for a video game to tackle the subject in such an unflinching, borderline over-the-top way.

I just want the MLO thing to finally pay off. The idea of a weird paramilitary cult of brainwashed federal agents is some batshit Kojima shit and I want to shoot at them so bad.
