Mikayla Raines, founder of the popular animal rescue organization Save A Fox and a well-known YouTuber, has died by suicide, her husband Ethan Raines confirmed in a heartbreaking video uploaded to the Save A Fox YouTube channel on June 23, 2025.

Mikayla, who was known for her tireless work rescuing and caring for foxes and other exotic animals, had been battling severe mental health conditions including depression, autism, and borderline personality disorder. According to Ethan, despite years of therapy and various medications, she continued to struggle with daily life and emotional regulation.
In his emotional 11-minute statement, Ethan revealed that Mikayla had been the target of a prolonged online harassment campaign. The abuse reportedly came not only from strangers but also from individuals within her personal life and others in the animal rescue community.

“They spread false rumors, and being the sensitive person she was, it deeply affected her,” Ethan said. “She tried for years to push through the pain, but this time it was too much.”

Mikayla is survived by Ethan, their daughter Freya, and the many animals she cared for at Save A Fox’s Minnesota and Florida locations. Ethan has vowed to continue her legacy and the mission of the rescue.

Fans and fellow animal lovers expressed shock and sorrow online, paying tribute to Mikayla’s impact on the rescue community.

So Reddit causes a girl to kill herself and now suddenly a bunch of people on here are grasping at every straw possible to justify what Reddit did so that this place can be implicated too. Interesting.
Quote the posters in this thread that you found who were agreeing that Reddit caused her to kill herself and approving of it. If not, shit b8 m8.

And in case you're being serious, neither site caused her to an hero. She had a lot going on, both mentally and in her day to day life.

Please. If it were were an average-looking guy who'd done all these things and not a conventionally attractive redhead, KF would have started a thread on this years ago and NONE of you would be defending SAF.
I really don't think anyone would've noticed or cared, the only people who did were abunch of busy body catladies (no offense to the Beauty Parlor gals, you're doing great) that stumbled upon Mikayla's degeneracy and mistreatment of both her staff and the animals. She was not really that much of a lolcow (publicly facing) but working under her and being around her was probably like being in an emotional torture chamber. There isn't anything absurd or funny about this situation, its just tragic, and thats mainly because of the children shes left behind.

The husband types like one of those Instagram backyard dog breeders. From his typing patterns and emoji usage, I don't get the impression that his IQ is terribly high.

Please do what Mikayla did if you really believe this was because of Internet bullying.

Yes I am late to the discussion- I just wanted to say rest in peace.

Reddit is a disgusting cesspool of faggots and trannies that have a "holier-than-thou" mentality. These losers couldn't do a quarter of what she did for foxes.
I bet the majority of them are backpeddling now on what they said too.

Okay, now you can rate me late.

I love my dog and she may sneak a lick on my cheek, but I give the spot a quick wash. Wtf is up with people who mouth kiss their animals?!

Yeah, that's not allergies, that's skin irritation/infection, probably from bacteria and other microorganisms in their mouths and fur. Allergies would have her breaking out or struggling to breathe just from being around their shed fur. If she was regularly mouth kissing them and didn't have worse symptoms, she wasn't allergic, just unsanitary.

that they had to spent $200,000 on fencing and enclosures.
Isn't 200K a bit much if the husband did all of that?
I think it adds up pretty well man once you lay the information all out.
The husband also works on his cars on that location and I'd say he has a few interesting cars.
I don't have any idea where he gets the money to support his hobby.
Dude even has a Ford GT.
"... I had planned a road trip from Minnesota to Washington to rescue a pet surrender fennec fox. I had hoped to take my GT"
That's right, rescue a fox with a Ford GT
Throw in that property they had and suddenly it all starts adding up pretty quickly.

And they don't seem like the brightest types seeing how they had their toddler waving around a gun.

@Grand Duke Snowfall posted this in another thread
I could not find a link so wasn't sure if it was real or fake.
Now I'm inclined to think it's real.

So a BPD whore got bullied by furries and killed herself. I dunno, I don’t think normal people who get hate comments immediately just kill themselves. There must have been something else going on in her head.

So I have a question:
Degenerate redditors aside, when I was coming up in the late '00s early '10s, if someone did something to themselves up to and including suicide; it was their fault and their fault alone. In fact, I remember people making fun of those who did it (an hero kid, the girl who drank bleach, the cyberbullying movie where the main character couldn't get the cap off, etc...). What changed?

Nobody physically made her suck start a pistol, turn into the third pull cord of a ceiling fan, or become a living drug repository except herself.

I don’t think society has been of one mind on this people have certainly been prosecuted and publicly scorned for causing people to ACK

Of course there’s also always the fact that social norms are never static or anything especially as new youth replace the aging generation. Maybe most people who had kids raised them to be less tolerant of negative behavior. I mean, it’s why banter on voice chat in video games is dead.

>reddit exposed as a hate site once again
>reddit exposes two-tiered policing of online culture
>another “divergent” an heros

I feel bad for the foxes. Everything else is top kek.

I had a very different experience in the early 2010s. Amanda Todd's YouTube video was going viral and people were talking about cyberbullying a lot. The difference is that, back then, prominent suicides connected to cyberbullying always had an irl/illegal component. Todd was sextorted by a Dutch pedophile, who caused her classmates to bully her by creating new Facebook pages and friending students at her school every time she changed schools.

It wasn't a concept back then that grown men and women would kill themselves just because online strangers said negative things about them in response to stuff they posted. Social media ifluencers who weren't irl celebs didn't really exist; the closest thing we had was people like PewDiePie. If you were cyberbullied, it's because people who knew you irl used the internet to bully you, in addition to bullying you irl. Almost all prominent cyberbullying victims were teen girls, who are known to be very vulnerable to rejection by their peers, not weird adults like Byuu.

If I recall correctly, there were aggressive anti-bullying ad campaigns as well as being the focal point of a lot of teen tv. So by the time the 2000's got here, we were all gay

That tranny Kazeolion does it have a lolcow page??
BECAUSE HOLY JESUS
You need a whole hazmat suit to approach the subject.
edit : what this tranny that bullied Mikayla is into
-cats....they are sexually attracted to felines and go to therapy
-want to hurt their 1 year old nephew (whine about lack of attention)
