I don't think that's quite true. I see them more as people who don't have time or patience to actually spend time learning about technology. It really depends on the person imo, sometimes they're genuine retards and other times they could just be older folks or people who live fast-paced lives where downtime isn't acceptable.
I'm saying this as a sperg with a Pixel running Graphene, if that matters.

This is kind of anecdotal and I don't want to turn this into a debate about phones but I've seen just as many technologically inept boomers use android phones comfortably without problems and a lot of my actual hands on experience with iPhones comes with trying to setup customers phones to control their heat pumps over wifi and android phones always just worked without issue, I usually didn't even have to help the customer whereas the few iphone customers we had always had problems connecting and even I struggled for a bit to figure out how to get that shit to connect and work properly. The funny thing is, all the actual rich old customers we had used android phones. It was always the faux wannabe rich people with less money than they thought that had iphones.

My condolences, I've been through a similar experience of having to foidwrangle my divorced mother when we were frantically packing up essential and valuable items to leave the city ASAP to survive an upcoming flood.
