It's honestly incredible to me that 1 in every 200 Finnish people are not only aware of SKG but actually signed it.
No doubt. For those that are worried about gay ops/fradulent signatures/what have you, it would probably be beneficial for people to keep up the signatures even after the goal is hit, that way even if any fakes are shaved away (if such a process can happen), we can rest easy knowing the goalpost is still comfortably cleared.

Oh boy do I love following this shit. It's been a while since there was a hype train of this magnitude, and as a bonus it comes coupled with an almost global, Internet-wide hate train for what is possibly the only known Quadruple F (Ferret-fucking furry freak) video game developer known to date.

I remember a while back he said on stream something to the effect of "you don't need optimized code for your game" and showed examples of games like Undertale not having the most technically sound code.
He's correct on that, but there is something that will kill your coding performance fast, and that is early optimization. Worrying about shaving cycles when your game will run just fine on any PC from this century. Using quicksort instead of bubble sort, or better yet, use the language builtins instead (for anything! not just sorting) is a sane decission. Bitshifting masks for shaving bits off bytes on a PC is just flexing how retarded your priorities are.
Top-8 dogs so far.
C'mon Germany? Are you gonna let Poland of all countries win? And where is France? Surrendering already?

I wish I could have seen Ross's reaction when he saw this video. If I remember right in his last Q&A he said "Those type of content creators are godlike beings we mortals can't reach to them"
Im really happy the numbers are still ticking up, but I'm also really starting to get pissed at Ross's clear self-sabotage - guy has such a fucking self-defeating mentality.

"Those type of content creators are godlike beings we mortals can't reach them"

I have to ask at this point... Did he even fucking try? Because both Jack & Pewds are not only close friends (so you get both if you get either) but they've been massively pro-consumer (especially when it comes to games) for YEARS. Ross seems to have just purposefully avoided gaming Youtubers, the exact people who should've been backing this thing from the start, and why? Because he was afraid of Youtube drama. I'm beginning to think that him not addressing Piratesoftwares initial video wasn't the only thing holding this campaign back - he could've still been reaching out for support whilst sidestepping said drama, but it's almost like he avoided Internet people entirely and Internet people are the exact ones that have a vested interest in this issue.

it would be pretty cool if it hit 70k today but that's probably a cope- only 20 minutes left to go and most Euros are already asleep. Tomorrow the Euros feast.
You might be surprised, I clocked a thousand in nine minutes a bit ago.

Probably not unfair, but he seems to be on track to be successful now - we can't know for sure how that timeline would have shaken out, but we do know that this one is on track to succeed.

Also, he's gone on record multiple times as really not being the right man for this job, and I guess if nothing else I can sympathize with feeling compelled to do something you aren't qualified for.

I totally understand your frustration, though.

This is not doomerposting, I want this shit to succeed so bad, but the stakes being so low to sign up makes me worry that some gayops might be going on with how fast this is going. I hope this is not the case.
Video games are an extremely popular hobby, and when you combine this popularity with YouTube drama (which even non-gamer normies might come across + YouTube is one of the Internet's most visited websites globally) I think the exponential growth is to be expected. There are literally no downsides to this campaign and it's so inoffensive that many non-gamers could get behind it. There's also the word of mouth aspect; I'm in the EU and have gotten two people to sign the initiative so far, and I'm sure there are many EU gamers who've asked friends and family for 30 seconds of their time to sign it. I do think we should keep pushing for signatures until the 31st of July (assuming the 1 million signatures have been obtained by then) to counter any potential gay ops, but overall I think we can be decently confident that this initiative will succeed to great malding from the ferret fucker himself.

If you take a closer look at those figures you might notice that—as per the tracker's own default—the countries are all sorted by percentage of their own locally-assigned threshold. Not entirely sure what determines that threshold per country, but I assume it would have something to do with their population and perhaps some kind of "status" they have within the EU itself.

Germany are still well in the lead in terms of pure signature count, and they have almost double the amount of signatures that Poland does just in second place to them.

Wtf, who even is this guy. Like, I think I missed it when this video was posted the first time. His arguments are brain-dead retarded.
And why the fuck does he keep hearting ALL of the comments? All those shitting on him? Is it his weird way of "owning his haters" or something? If it's not ragebait then what the hell is his thing?
I am sometimes genuinely confused by some people's existence.
I suspect he just has a bot that's programmed to like every comment to encourage the "heckin' wholesome" hugbox atmosphere.

Closing out the day with nearly 70K - unless I'm mistaken, this is the biggest day yet by a significant margin. If the thing maintains anywhere near this trajectory, we'll be done by the end of the week.

I don't like being cynical, but man, giving people a dragon to slay sure tends to get people moving. In a way, it makes me wonder if this is better, since I wouldn't be surprised if people are apathetic and tired with swinging at mist the way it usually tends to go with faceless corporate and governmental entities.

Having a single person who's so squarely hatable and tangibly vulnerable might have been just what something like this movement needed to really get people fired up. People like their evils less abstract, it makes it easier to reckon with them and make them feel more meaningfully vincible.
