Is Salah still CEO of business and spreadsheets at the perfume empire? How is he supporting himself and his behemoth wife?

Could it be her finances are tied into accounts he can access and she's been supporting him this entire time? I think so. He was hiding out in Syria until she was able to sponsor him. I wouldn't doubt this is a visit to see if she can tolerate living there, if not she'll go back to Canada and continue working on paying her debts and sponsoring him.

Nothing else makes sense.

I’m probably the only one skeptical about Malaysia, mainly because 1. For all the talk of shariah, Chantal and Salah may get away with being in places where those religious laws aren’t very rigorously enforced ( at least from what Chantal has shown), and the big one: recreational cannabis use is outlawed.

I’m working under the assumption that her family set a strict “no YouTube” and “no thc” policy. And Chantal can’t seem to function in Canada these days without either of those things.

Granted, getting back with Salah may have been the plan all along, but the timing is kind of on the nose. As Unicorn Pondue says, Chantal is anything but subtle.

LOL, I'd wager that those ISIS hostage takers would immediately regret that decision. I think one of the reasons Salah orchestrated this is to use Chantal and her youtube pay to not only feed himself but also the rest of his family that they're living with. His family might have urged him to get a job on his arrival. Instead, he probably thought he would fly his handy pay pig to the scene to do the work for him, once again failing to read the rules and regulations in Syria beforehand. If she's going to be an economic burden on people in need I doubt she'd be welcome there. She knows it, her mind is already set on vlogging. What a sight it will be to see all the Syrian people's reaction to her waddling around and gasping for air in search for food.
Whatever it is that possesses her to bend over backwards for bums like Nader and Salah is beyond me, but I guess the question is not why would she do this for Salah but rather what won't she do for him?

Even though there has been a regime change Syria is still the 3rd most dangerous country in the world, only behind Afghanistan and Yemen. Assad was outed by a group known as HTS which was an affiliate of al-qaeda and is still listed as a terrorist organization by the U.S. So while they haven't killed thousands upon thousands of people they have only been in power for less than a year and the country is still very much divided and is still at war.

He told her not to come.....yet. Paranoia is a powerful drug. But she said she lied about the camping trip to foil her haydurs. I think she decided to go to Syria and got the rental car to take herself to the airport. She probably left for the airport after her last livestream where she had her luggage in the back.

All I can think of is suicide bombers and dear god how many bombs they could hide on her. Since she never bothered to learn Arabic they could discuss their plans in front of her while Salah told her that they were strapping cooling units to her that will act as a personal A/C and say that when she reaches her destination there will be ice cream and Nashies flown in just for her.
