It seems mostly to be coming from Germany, Poland, France, and Spain within the last 24 hours, which are all countries with large non-English speaking populations.
English is the official language of the EU.
It's mandatory 2nd language in most nations and the low number for English literacy is like 40% with some nations like Finland having 80% English literacy.
Also Germany, Poland and France have large gaming industry sectors and large hobby groups. And when I describe gaming as a hobby I don't mean lots of people play video games. But you have conventions, modding groups, translating and cracking groups. If you go back to the 80s and 90s you would need to put in real effort to get into video games in Europe and those people won't just get over it.
Then how did they coerce Apple into using the USB-C connector for iPhones?
Because fucking with foreign companies is one of the few things everyone can agree the EU should do.

this is awful, i sorta thought he'd just be positive, but not him insulting ross and rambling about his own life
Toughen up pussy. That's exactly what he's trying to do with Ross here. If you can't carry the mantle anymore, find competent people to pass it to, because this is just the first step.
We're not done.

I'm not quite sure what they're trying to accomplish here, do they legitimately believe that the EU has the authority to close down all farms and completely ban the sale of meat?
There's a whole bureaucratic process but basically if the petition passes, you don't automatically get swatted then jailed for not "cultivating" (aka let the animal die naturally) meat. It would set into motion a chain of events aimed at decreasing farms and replacing them with more sustainable options. If another petition comes up saying "return farms, this synthetic food fucking sucks" then the process will repeat until they find a middle ground.

Also very funny they cite farms as spreading "salmonella". No shit sherlock, all raw meat has salmonella. Eggs can have salmonella. Water can have salmonella. Scientist don't want you to know this, but there's one easy, ingenious trick of getting rid of salmonella:

if StopKillingGames met the goal, Thor would brag how his video and the drama that happened since was all part of his 5D Chess move to get people to vote, and he was responsible for the success.
I'm a little new to the Maldverse, but I doubt it. He's never once admitted he had a bad take, or that he was grifting, or that he was lying, or anything of the sort. It seems more in character to smugly boast about how he caused it to fail, and to ban anyone who dares to bring up the fact that it did not fail.

You know what? There's an entire month left. Go grab us at least 2 mil Euros. No! Fuck it, Euros, we need 6 million! I'm looking at you Germany.

You've done it before... ;)
Raise of gamer Reich, please don't invade us this dear tanks, gassing corpo scum isn't a war crime. Accept ideology of pro consumer rights and make a party on United States,

Here's my thoughts on Louis's complaints:

Ross is not a politician.

I don't mean that in the obvious way. I mean he doesn't want to be a politician. He's the definition of 'I just wanna grill' jokes. He probably was never class president or worked on even pseudo-political jobs. He's fairly non-confrontational and prefers to live and let live. He doesn't want to be doing this. He wants this done but his hope was that he would get someone to do it for him - you know, just like how everyone does. That's why most people don't bother trying to be a politician, because they don't want to actually do anything to change their lives that will require serious work.

So because he's not a politician, he doesn't want to think like a politician or act like a politician. More power to him, that shit sucks. It kills your soul gradually because a politician Ross would've not just taken Fagtree's shit, he would've used it as soon as he had an opening. He got overwhelmed by all the possible opportunities like GOG and Heineken to try and do both things. Politician Ross might have been able to get this boost much earlier, but it would be so much easier to see him as a piece of shit because he'd feel slimier and less honest, likely. Because that's the thing, isn't it? Politicians are untrustworthy to most of us because they don't make our lives much better. At the same time, a politician makes 'managing people's lives' their livelihood, because that's what they do.

So Ross fucked up this campaign enough because he's not a politician - because he doesn't have the mindset required to make this his life. He doesn't want to do this, he hoped that complaining about it for long enough would get some viewer of his who would be entering the political sphere to go 'hey, this is a sensible thought' and actually start making an effort, but we all know video games are not a priority to politics compared to health, finances, military, etc. - except, of course, when it comes to what is dangerous for children.

Ross has said before he doesn't see himself as the best person for the job but he was the only one he had, and he only had one shot to make it when The Crew was shut down, which was maybe before he felt ready. And he never disclosed any such plans of 'I have a trustworthy person who will handle this and I will be the spokesperson' because, by all accounts, there was none. He hates doing this and he hates that he has to do this, which is why he said he was done with Stop Killing Games directly if it failed and why he still probably wants to pass the torch on to someone reliable after it succeeds. Because all he wants is to grill.

I feel these pics from the OP is not getting the attention they really deserve
Together with this article this is who he been the whole time. There never was a "mask off" moment for mald, just a surprisingly long "mask on" moment. Long enough to fool the masses.

Just like the matpat vid, he Constantly tell on himself non stop.

One of them wants the EU to ban the slaughter of all animals for food, and it's actually on track to get enough votes, it's 90% of the way there already and only expires in September. (Sauce)

Ross pointed out that if you pull too far in one direction with no concessions whatsoever to the other side, this shit is just going to get thrown out or earn a response akin to the UK petition upon achieving 10k. A realistic, deeply concession-based path forward is the only actual way to get something like this through I.E. "Ban factory slaughter houses" or something akin to that. If Ross had demanded software devs give up all their source code and have said games also enter the public domain, it'd get scuppered, 1 million signatures or 10 million. The EU mandating that its members risk fucking their political situations up by just soft-abolishing meat consumption isn't going to fly, even with the green-minded commission.

Also, these people generally overestimate the capabilities of the EU. Yes, they genuinely believe the EU is capable of forcing it.

You make a good point, at the same time it's worth considering that a number of notable people in the EU (or just Europeans more generally) have talked about the petition within the last 48 hours. It's not impossible that this is all entirely natural, but it feels a bit odd. It seems mostly to be coming from Germany, Poland, France, and Spain within the last 24 hours, which are all countries with large non-English speaking populations.

We ultimately can't know just how many, if any, of the signatures are false. At the same time, it would require Mald's people and anyone else potentially looking to fuck with SKG to be fairly good at what they do. It's not outside the realms of possibility, just unlikely.

But we will have to wait and see, nobody knows what the future may hold.
If it's worth noting, there's sites where the userbase speaks English yet comes from those said countries. Being able to pass links to them about other things as well has helped.

Someone brought up the inconsistent signatures per capita requirements earlier and now it has me schizzin out. Luxembourg currently has less than half of it's signatures required to pass it's threshold and it's signatures per capita is 0.3%. So, the required signatures would put it's signatures per capita over 0.6%. That would put it closer to Finland's (the first place country by signatures per capita) than it would to Sweden. It is strange to say the least.

Second to last place:

Just getting enough signatures to pass it's threshold, Luxembourg would be in second place, and with a huge margin above third.

My pet hypothesis is that the EU lawmakers somehow cooked a system into the signature per capita requirements such that countries that are considered more important have a higher requirement. Then, when initiatives pass in those "important" countries with higher requirements, the lawmakers put a higher priority on solving that initiative. The reason I say this is because, you may not know but, Luxembourg is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. But that's just my schizo brain. If someone more autistic than me wants to look into it further be my guest.
