JelloApocalypse / Brendan Blaber - Fart Fetishist Anime Youtuber

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.

Jello is looking for more and more ways to be upset over nothing.
That third image is Mary fucking Poppins do you have to shoehorn hating women into everything dumbass?
I mean he isn't really upset here, its just a trope he loves.

Especially with his blatant glazing of the Layton series which he occasionally does to shit on Ace Attorney

Is he an official lolcow yet? I feel like he's been very lolcow-ish (i.,e. weird hot takes, paranoid accusations of persecution, & general grifting behaviors) the past few months.
He should be, I know @Neil may write an OP on him since his twitter drama and hot takes alone should get him a thread with how much he likes to beef with everyone.

He loves that trope because he clearly projects himself onto it to the point it's a superiority complex. He wants so badly to be someone of that caliber because they're just so mysteriously flawless and beloved by everyone they meet.

Seeing all the people freaking out over the Lilo & Stitch remake is reminding me of the time Jello went on a Patreon-exclusive rant about his Kids Choice Awards opinions, where he says people hatewatching live-action Disney movies are still just playing into the hype machine.

A few Bluesky posts I thought were worth saving:

O.K. I'll bite.... what game is doing this? Because that's a very specific thing to complain about.
Bendy and the Ink Machine? I guess it's "subversive" in that it's all style and hardly any substance since it's a walking horror-sim with rubberhose aesthetics.

Finally got around to watching this video
I appreciate Joon getting Jello's side of the story, it really puts things into different contexts and clearing up some misinformation I had
It still doesn't make him look any better though
Check the comments. Joon removed quite a bit of context from the controversies. Scroll down and you will see him being called out.

I'm reading through them now, I do agree with what some of the people are saying but I still stand that hearing jello's side was nice, even if it only affirmed that he is an asshole even in private
thank you for pointing this out for me, I appreciate it

Not trying to change opinions on Jello or say that we should not hear his side. I am saying that Joon downplayed his controversies and impact. While he did not completely tank his career, Jello helped widen the schism between the fans and localizers during a time when there was real conflict and made things worse. He was important in shifting the Japan side of the industry towards AI translations. He also said that Oda is a pedo (for drawing sexy women even though the One Piece demographic is adolescent boys and there is nothing wrong with them finding girls their age sexy) and he does not give credit to others even though he gives credit to everyone who assists him. Famously, he told fans that the Supernovas were due to his editor telling him to spice up Sabaoby a bit as it was looking somewhat boring. Jello is the kind of guy that does not do enough research and then complains when being called out.

Joon handled him with kiddie gloves.

I can live with the solace that 90% of the comments are still shitting on Jello and calling out the shit that Joon didn't go over.
Yeah, you cannot fix that. An obvious fluff-piece just serve to remind people of why they hate you. He had better waited and contributed to the community (and apologized) but he instead got himself a glazer and reignited the controversy somewhat.

If Jello hoped this interview would help his image, I don't think it has.
He is a modern journo type. In his mind, he only needs to open his mouth and everything will be solved.

I can understand Joon's position somewhat. If he rails against Jello (and other cows) then he effectively locks himself out of future opportunities to interview cows and get their side of things, which is valuable information even if they are lying or misconstruing events in their own favor. But he definitely went way to soft this time and should have hit back harder or at the very least acknowledge that people can lie.

There was a lot of BS he took at face value from Jello and other news sources he cited that should have been drilled into or questioned more.

He should have presented both sides and let the viewer decide what to believe. The shit where he pretends that he is a decent fellow that made one or two mistakes and ignored the bigger controversies such as his One Piece video or him making things worse for localizers when both fans and Japan were reconsidering their relationship with the dubs was a big thing to ignore. Especially since the One Piece video ends with some serious lies/accusations and him throwing gasoline into the localizer fire probably costed quite a few jobs. A fair coverage were he presents all the facts but takes no side is what he should have done.
