I haven't played much of commander mode, but IIRC officers dying can negatively impact morale of your other officers and you need to grab a new guy to fill his spot, but I don't think the mode has a fail state unless you play Ironman mode, then if you die your entire save is wiped.

I imagine they had to remove the models no matter what, they couldn't exist on the console versions. Personally, I think they should have went one of two ways with it.
1: Give the women pasties or something in that vein, they are being sold into sex slavery, I think that would help retain some of the initial "Oh holy fuck" reaction to the scene without having explicit nudity (Maybe reuse clothing from the women at Neon Tomb?)
2: just reuse some clothing from the twisted nerve level? It would fit way better than the way too clean underwear.

There is practice mode which is the same as commander minus the squad management, you can restart mid mission and if your officers die they reappear after restarting or finishing the mission. You still unlock the missions as normal but you don't unlock any of lore collectibles I believe

Mods will probably roll back most if not all the changes, I'm sure some modders have already ripped the to-be-changed assets and will mod them back in once the patch drops.

The change was forced by the console publishers, or else they couldn't release on console. Some changes are console only (Mainly purely texture ones) but all model texture changes are coming to PC too. Just a case of Consoles having double standards.

It isn't bad but with the cargo container they could've made it to where they're wearing dirty raggedy clothes instead of clean-ish looking clothes we're getting.

Apologizes, haven't played the game in ages, waiting for the summer update to replay it. It's still edgier than a modern AAA game like call of duty game vanguard where you play as the diverse marvel A Team VS the not nazis so they can sell to a board audience.

They could have given them rags at the very least like what one of them is wearing. But that might have required too much modeling for what's basically a bunch of NPCs you only see for 10 seconds before the glowies say "oy vey shut it down we don't want you to know the truth".

Modeling clothes is too heckin' hard. 😔

My only complaint is the PC version sees some of the censorship as well. Otherwise I wouldn't care at all. It does irritate me slightly that I'm losing out on "features" just so console plebs can play this game.

Well they're actually doing something for once and it's a bad thing this time. You yourself said that there's issues in the game still and VOID doesn't like to communicate... Except for this massive amount of effort being made to sell the game on console and a bunch of explaining on what is being removed to further that goal. I wonder how far they'd go for console sales. Nudity and post mortem dismemberment is a hard thing to really defend, I mean people in this very thread already are just saying, "that kinda sucks" and that's it. Meanwhile VOID would sooner put effort into placating the ratings boards than fixing aspects of the game.

I really feel like Void Interactive started this whole shock thing to get out of a contract with their publisher they didn't want to work with anymore but couldn't terminate it on their end without legal issues so they just made the game poison to them. But they realized the whole shock thing actually might get them more customers.

I mean they already toned the game down a lot before launch. The trailers showed more blood and the school shooting level was 100% not a university in the trailer.

I think it has worked out really well for them though. They managed to get very positive reviews despite missing half the features they advertised prior to launch. It's not a terrible game by any means but it is hardly different than swat 4. They promised this super in-depth story line with crazy characters, a PVP mode, all this shit and its just not there, but no one cares.
