I'm so angry we don't have video of this. Vicky bent over with "retractions" and breathing with her back muscles. Vicky ceasing to breathe for several minutes and her oximeter dropping to the near-deadly 95%. Vicky holding up her phone to show the google search results to her bigoted doctors. It's so unfair that we only get hints from Vicky herself instead of being able to actually see it.

Honestly, though, right now the hospital and whatever dumb version of defensive medicine they’re practicing are kind of pissing me off just as much as Vicky’s histrionics. She’s clearly fine, vitals are unremarkable - just kick her fat ass out on the street already.

Probably there's some liability rule she's taking advantage of. Remember she's a (former) little rich girl, so despite being retarded she can probably hint at enough legal threats to make the doctors just roll their eyes and keep her, for a while at least. She's "homeless" as well, so it's probably a matter of not being able to guarantee a safe discharge.

(What I don't get is why Vicky is so terrified of catching covid. She seems to want to be in hospital and unable to breathe, but she's always rolling around in a stupid-looking mask so she doesn't catch the Wu Flu? A covid infection + her immense obesity might actually necessitate a real ER trip, and she's throwing that all away!)

They took away your oximeter because you were obsessing about a perfectly acceptable reading of 95; it's not good for anyone's health to stare at a monitor and freak out every time the number changes. This right here is tied for what's worst about munchies. That kind, earnest, normal people who are truly suffering medical misfortune, will encounter them and waste valuable energy and time feeling compassion for them.

There was a horrible man who also happened to be homeless (lived in his van) and treated hospital stays for his chronicity as though they were little spa weekends.

One admission he realized that he couldn't be discharged to homeless if he needed continuous supplemental oxygen; the O2 companies were fine with travel tanks but wouldn't deliver a J tank to a van, and there was no electricity to run a concentrator. What followed was the most frustrating oxygen weaning of all time, because he would just hold his breath or hypoventilate whenever anyone turned his oxygen down. It took some ninja skills to do it while he was asleep, and at one point the oxygen was visibly running at 1L with a hose attached to it... but not the cannula that was actually on him, which was sitting there as a placebo.

The same man was also the reason they started locking the bathrooms at one specific grocery store location.
