God bless America, it's July 4th and I know exactly what I want to make to feast on today:

edit: what's the lore on Jack getting sober? I can only find a few results for the word "sober" in the thread but I have to assume he's explained it in detail in some video or whatever ages ago. The most I can see is that his wife forced him into it but he was maybe already struggling with alcoholism/sobriety at that point anyway?

I did see a post of someone saying he was probably way more fun when he used to drink and I would guess that must be pretty accurate:
Old Jagoff was probably more fun to be around when he was drunk. New Jagoff is going to be insufferable to be around. You just know half the things from his mouth are going to be Q-tard related.
And I've seen plenty of speculation from reading this thread over years that he maybe still drinks and that the liquor and other stuff he buys seems to be used outside of cooking.

As far as I know, he never had a problem with alcohol. But, my theory is this: I don't think he'd go as far as saying he 'got sober' for bragging rights, simply because he thinks only losers have drug/alchol problems. (He tried to make his 15/16 yr ol son homeless, for experimenting with smoking weed, and then was disappointed when his grandparents took him in, making him not have to live/sleep on the street.)

But, I think he might pretend he stopped drinking entirely, as though that was a goal or was hard for him to do, just so he can act holier than thou. Because, I don't get the sense he is someone who's ever enjoyed drinking. I think food is his thing, not alcohol.

I've seen him cook with alcohol many times, and he says during those times that he only cooks with it, doesn't drink it.

Basically Jack used to drink more often, particularly during his time he was married to his first wife. He could only get Tammy to commit by saying and performatively getting sober due to her teetotaling, as well as likely some pressure by the in-laws or the murderchurch if I remember right.

If he was an alcoholic, it was more due to his inability to have any form of temperence rather than addiction. I just know once he got so smashed he slammed into a stop sign hard enough to break his glasses or nose or something, and he dropped a hamburger he was eating. Also yes, that latter bit was what got him most mad.

He likely secret drinks due to hating people telling him what to do, and that's what the cooking with alcohol is for; excuses for him to cop a nip or two with it. That one is based on how quickly levels of liquor in the bottle changes between videos as well as how he mostly just cooks for the show and usually just eats out instead. He also still treats drinking like a teenager does; being goofy and performative with it because of course he is.

Don't think he's an alkie other than how he acts. He just can't control portions like he can't with all other fud.

I know that Hammy is a teetotaler, but I have never seen Jack deal with alcohol except for that one video he did with Nigger Junior.
IIRC back in the day when I was snooping around the CWJ Facebook page, I looked at some posts of Tammy's and one was where she liked and comment on some Nashville brewery's beer. Something to the effect of how much she enjoyed it. This was probably three years ago.

BEANS & RICE - FOOD PREPPING

So he takes food from bags, and then puts it in other bags that require a powered device to seal. Additionally he comments about how it's in case he's without power for a week or whatever... how the fuck does he intend to cook rice and beans without water and heat? I doubt he's got enough propane on hand to be able to actually cook for a week(more like have Tammy or Jr do it), and where would he be getting water from since he doesn't have any water storage or a well?

And even sealing the bags, Tammy did it below the tear notches at the edges of the bag so they won't even be able to tear the seal off like how the bags are intended to be used, nevermind the fact that the bags were wider than the sealer so I doubt they did it right anyway and would have been better off just putting the original bags into the buckets.

Did Jack ever say exactly why he believes they'd give customers less food when they order takeout? Because it doesn't make logical sense to me. I'm pretty sure restaurants profit just as much from giving customers takeout. They have to give the containers the food comes in, but they don't have to pay staff to wash the dishes the food's served on for dine-in orders. Does he just think that if you're not right there to see the food (and maybe complain when you see it right away) that they'll cheat you, because they can? I don't see the logic, and wonder if I missed it, or, more likely maybe...there is none?
No. It's just one of those things that Fatty believes because he wants to believe.

That was absolutely retarded. Firstly so long as your rice and beans are kept dry you don't need to vacuum seal. And secondly if the power goes out then there's a reason you have a grill or if you're serious about prepping you've installed solar panels and a battery backup system.

This is literally Fatty at his worst.

Oh dear Lord it's a series too. Jack please stop with this boring content. You don't need 10# of dried beans if the power goes out for a week. I have a week's worth of calories in my pantry without even trying to 'prep', thank.
Canned beans are a thing and they can last for years.

A good example in this video. He starts with a full bottle of Gentlemen Jack, actually uses an near-empty bottle 'from when he cooked last time' (sure) in the recipe demonstration, and ends the video with the original bottle with enough taken off the top to be feeling happy.

Ski ball is way better than rotting watching Blue's Clues. For one, it actually takes hand eye coordination, which fatty couldn't use if his life depended on it.

I don't really have anything to add anymore but I hate Jack and Bri's black baby will suffer with this loser family.
Maybe it'll be stillborn. Like Jack was.

Onions? Not Caramelized.
Cheese? Not Melted.
Liquor "S a u c e"? Not Reduced.

Mmmm, Hot Whisky Sandwich with semi-translucent onions and a puck draped in sweated cheese.

Glad to see in the 3 years since I last kept up with Jack nothing has changed.

I actually stared open-mouth when I saw the pyrex of hot liquor come out during the plating, as thin as the day it was bottled.

That's an interesting theory, but I've seen him pour ungodly amounts of alcohol into recipes. I'm pretty sure no recipe actually calls for the amounts he's poured in on camera. And I think he only does that because he believes cooking with expensive alcohol makes you fancy and a 'real' chef, and he never measures anything. So, I think he just used that amount in the burgers glaze, rather than having drank it. He even poured a huge amount of wine into a chili, once, I'm pretty sure. Did the same with a whole bottle of beer into another chili. He mixed beer and wine in another recipe. All sounds repulsive to eat.

I wonder if he might get a buzz, actually, when he cooks that poorly with such large amounts of alcohol, especially hard liquor. Also, if he had actually 'gotten sober,' I don't think he'd be okay with buying giant bottle of hard liquor and cooking with it, and other alcohols on a regular basis. Any former alcoholic would be uncomfortable with that, I think.

Jack is either a Snyderbro or hates James Gunn for political reasons

Gentleman's Jack is a scam in a bottle. You're better off buying ol' nº 7. Unsurprising acquisition by jack
