Well this is pretty much the autistic dumpster fire of a thread I thought it was going to be before clicking. It always kind of blows me away how defensive and autistic anime pedos get over their little girl cartoon characters. The amount of cope and delusional thinking that goes into defending it is kind of unreal. They just have no concept of how fucked up they appear to normal people.

There's also the fact many of these people (outside of Vshojo at least) don't typically want politics to be brought up in general even if they agree because they don't want to deal with whatever backlash comes from it on either side even if they agree with whatever the topic is. They'd rather just stay as apolitical as possible & considering the type of drama people like Froot, Pippa, & Kirsche get dragged into based on politics it's easy to understand why most people in general look at the whole thing & say "fuck that".

Alright, as someone who has been actively learning Japanese for about 8 years now, let me settle this dispute. In Japanese, loli and lolikko both mean "little girl" and lolicon means "pedophile" or more specifically "someone who is attracted to little girls". There is no ambiguity about this in Japanese like there is in English. This holds true regardless of if the little girl in question is real or a cartoon, regardless of whether the little girl is being sexualized or not, and regardless of if the girl is underage or really 900 years old. You will see people saying things like "loli hakken" (little girl discovered) when a litte girl appears on screen on a livestream and when people deny being pedophiles they say "ore wa lolicon ja nai" (I am not a pedophile).

And yes, same thing goes for shota and shotacon. Just switch out the word "girl" for "boy". Seriously, I have heard the words "Who's that shota?" come out of the mouths of more than one Japanese youtuber in different contexts, including Okayu and Korone.
