I can’t remember if I’ve mentioned this before, but I was listening to the WPIG lore stream on the escort saga. It’s incredible that he was 100% innocent, yet if you listened to him waffle around and try to tell his side of the story, you’d swear he was guilty.

He’s incapable of just getting to the fucking point, along with being so addicted to lying he even has trouble not fabricating the truth. Dudes brain is fucked on so many levels.

So this is a weird one and I have no idea what or why this is, but Phil is oddly quiet about some of the good guy stuff hes done (not that there is much). Like the the story J wong told the other day on steam where he was just a kid and won his first big tourney, then DSP found out the cannon brothers short paid him, so he made sure they paid out the correct amount. Now maybe he did it hoping to get a cut or just because he already haded the stationary brothers, im sure it wasnt purely altrusitic.

But at the end of that day, in what world does DSP not constantly tell us the story about the time the niggerdly cannon brothers tried to scam a young J wong, but then he hiroically stood up to them to get J wong paid? This biggy titty bitch still hold a grudge because of soemthing a cannon brother MIGHT have told him one time in a DM 14 years ago. How have we never heard DSP slam the cannon brothers for short paying tournaments?

I'm a little late to the day off conversation, but I'll throw in my two cents since I think Phil being an alcoholic is a little more interesting to discuss than the usual day off discussions.

I lean towards Phil being an alcoholic because he has a pretty clear addiction to booze. IMO, it's not his strongest addiction because, unlike some other cows, he isn't constantly showing up sloshed or hungover on stream every night. We know he spends a fair amount on booze because of the bank leaks, and given that he seems to drink a lot of cheap stuff, we can pretty safely assume he was buying in bulk.

But I also think the extent of his drinking is sometimes misjudged. 4 am gin tweets started as a joke that I think became gospel. And, sure, some of them are probably legitimate gin tweets, but I don't think there's much of a difference between sober Phil making a dumb tweet versus drunk Phil making a dumb tweet. Same with things like his poor reaction times during games, or his stroke mouth. Does Phil sometimes slur words because he's hungover/possibly buzzed? Probably, but if OIC paid for Phil to go the most expensive rehab clinic for a year, he'd still come back and have stroke mouth and constantly mispronounce words, have piss poor motor skills/reactions and be unable to follow basic concepts.

While I don't think Phil has the willpower to give up either, I think if there was a magical world where he had to choose whether he gave up drinking or Champions, he'd pretty easily pick drinking. Basically, I don't think Phil is like...dependent on alcohol, which is where you could potentially argue he's not an alcoholic, but he's definitely addicted to it. It probably started off as more of a "social" thing from his pre-hermit days, or maybe even something he just associates with being an adult. But he's done it for so long that it's become part of his schedule, and we know that Phil is nothing if not a slave to his schedule.

Phil in general is just someone with a very addictive personality, far too much free time on his hands and a lack of creativity. There's probably some alt-universe where if Phil was born during a different year, or had slightly different people in his life or something he'd end up addicted to something like MTG or Warhammer and he'd have run with that instead of FGC nonsense. I don't think his life would necessarily be better off because he's still Phil and he always finds ways to ruin things and be toxic. He'd basically just be swapping out one bankruptcy reason for another. Heck, we even saw glimpses of this with some of Phil's other momentary obsessions, like buying statues/collectibles or weird artwork. The only reason they didn't stick is those tend to be more limited in comparison to pulling Hogans or buying booze. But if someone found a way to make random artwork packs with different point values and a leaderboard, Phil's walls would be a lot more cluttered

It's kind of hard to be jealous of Phil making $1,000 for doing nothing when you realize he never leaves the house, has no friends, doesn't have sex, and is married to a fat bitch with Down Syndrome. Oh yeah, and he's a miserable drunk too. Gosh, I'm so jealous.

As others have basically said but I want to express clear as day... Even if Phil made ONE MILLION DOLLARS a year it absolutely would not be worth the hours long HUMILIATION RITUAL this man puts himself, DAY by DAY by DAY, though. Just about every week of his life.

Even worse, considering he makes like 1/8 or 1/10 of that amount: the dead eyed, plain naked begging sessions his streams devolve into are utterly shameful for a middle aged man to have to perform.

If he wasn't such an arrogant, unpleasant, awful person, you could almost pity him. Don't ever be jealous of him though. ...and NEVER, NEVER, EVER give him ANY money, no matter how funny you think whatever you are going to do/say/play is.

He got in early with the youtube thing and could have either built a proper channel that ensured he never had to work a day in his life or at least saved and invested enough in those early days for the same reason, but he fucked it all up and made literally every wrong decision he could.

When people say they're jealous they likely mean had they been given the same chance they'd have done things right and be living on easy street, myself included.

It is desperation. He isn’t literally paying for the fast food with the incoming donos but he cannot afford his lifestyle without hitting these goals. His income has been on the decline pretty consistently for the last decade.

Also his take home from that $1k is significantly cut down. He has to pay taxes on it which if I recall correctly is close to about 20-30%, but he also pays for his own healthcare completely out of pocket which is certainly not cheap. That 1k is far less than”balling” when you do the math.

I think the part you guys are missing here is that he was turbo begging about constant, vague "financial emergencies" so even if Khet ended up being true and the escort was false he was still lying to his audience and using tax bullshit and "muh bills" as the reason he needed tons of money.

But in terms of opportunities he has had in front of him, the grass is always greener on the other side. A lot of that Machinima and sponsor stuff probably sounds amazing from the outside but isn't necessarily all it's cracked up to be - Machinima went bankrupt and went through downsizing long before that. I think a large amount of early successful YouTubers went off and did other things because the competition is actually insane. The only reason DSP still exists is because he's actually unique and unforgettable - the number of people who had similar opportunities and fizzled out is fucking giant.

Tons of early YouTubers also just burnt out from the algorithm games and the fact that if you take like a week off you might lose 25-50% of your income forever. It's definitely not the easiest job ever in terms of stress - the main reason people hate DSP in this khantext is how he complains about how the easiest parts of it are way too hard and he overcomplicates everything because he's still at level 1. If he had an actually stable income this whole time then he'd be at level 2 and I think that is when burn out and other shit hits hard. He still doesn't even automate his leaderboard lol
