Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Skins in multiplayer games are getting progressively worse and there is little creativity in modern games and what they can customize to the player. So far, only Rocket League and Counter-Strike have the option to change the soundtrack of your choice in-game. If they won't allow you to mod the fucking game like the lazy kikes they are, why can't they offer unique in-game options for the player to play around with?
You want more microtransactions?

Games need to stop catering to mongs by using over-simplified 'one button fits all' control schemes. Picking up an item, stealing an item, sitting in a seat, starting a conversation and opening a door, should not all be the 'A' or 'X' button (If you're using a controller). Have modifiers like holding a shoulder button, or Y for starting a conversation.

If the game knows which I want to do first using a priority system, then it can use that same damned system to split those actions up using lesser-used buttons.

How do we save gamers? They're causing most of the problems imo.

The casualization of gaming saw to that. Every since games like CoD and Skyrim got real successful, those one-button inputs became really popular. Or as Bioware would call it, the "awesome button!"

I think people don’t realise, or don’t want to realise, that the stereotypical gamer (owns a dedicated gaming PC and/or console, plays a variety of different games from an ever growing collection) is the minority of consumers.

First of all the unspoken truth about the market that amateur YouTube commentators tend to ignore is that mobile gaming makes up the lion’s share of the market. And the only reason why traditional games are still being made is that the people that make traditional games have trouble breaking into the mobile market and vice versa.

Second of all even on the PC/Console front the grim reality is that there are more Riot accounts than stream accounts. I know multiple people for whom video games basically start and end at League of Legends. Probably could name another bunch that more or less only play Counter Strike. Same with COD, FIFA, Fortnite and a couple others.

So that’s the majority of the market. Mobile games and a small handful of F2P games and annual releases.

Sure the stereotypical gamer is still a consumer worth catering to so at least for now we’ll still get games like stellar blade or whatever but if there’s something that might kill gaming as we now it it’s not wokeness or whatever boogeyman, it’s the fucking cattle that makes up most of the market.

I know for statistical purposes they qualify as gamers, but in reality they don't. Most of them would switch to scratchcard/gambling or tiktok. Mobile games are a way to kill time, not a way to spend time. If or when they disappear, that part of the "market" will disappear and "traditional" or "real" games will remain. As for the FPS gamers, they're similar to FIFA gamers, I don't really count them same as I wouldn't say kids who read Harry Potter or Twilight and never anything else count as bookworms. They don't care about the media, they care about a singular franchise that happens to be on that media. If anything, the death of casuals will get bloated investment out and we can do away with every game trying to be Fortnite or Candy Crush.

there's 8 pages of the statement regarding niggercattle entering the gamingsphere if you search for it, including a highlight, it's why candy crush was seen as the biggest grossing game once, same as the women being a majority of players in the gaming market but when you read the article, it's always mobile games.

more like less-than-stellar blade
