It's not bad practice to separate speaker and lines said, such as having different types of text or wanting to dynamically change speaker or text -- but, this is the most retarded way of doing it.

Here's some code of my own project where it's done relatively well. Null/undefined values return a default, of course, something which Mald clearly doesn't know how to implement looking at that fucking wall of code.
