Is Mr. Anisa-and-I Jomha even legally authorized to work in Canada?
I vaguely recall that that she became a citizen of Canada's Pants at some point (not that she ever held a job in the US), but I don't remember hearing Ian doing anything about officially becoming Snow Mexican.
The legality of Ian working in Canada may mean he can't do online/video work, either. The government might look the other way when it's a blogger on vacation for a few days, but they might show a little more interest in someone in a more permanent... predicament.

Or is he a Canadian citizen already?

He can get a permit but because he's american he will always pay american taxes no matter which country he lives in, on top of canadian taxes I wonder how much cheaper Canada is going to be.

On a side note does anyone know how much tax is put on the $1.050.000 house and if this taxation is applied in Canada as well.

Talking about an Ian redemption arc is pointless considering what we now know of his character. He isn't an innocent victim--he's an insecure, seething autist who resents Anisa everyday because he knows he threw it all away for nothing. They're both maladjusted individuals with little to no empathy for others and that's why they're a match made in Hell.

That's why I joked the only bigger match made in hell for Anisa is if she had married Ethan Ralph.

I think Maureen urged Anisa to marry rich because she's aware her daughter is a waste as a person and is unable to contribute meaningfully to society or a potential partner. The only way Anisa's life wasn't going to turn out like this is if she had attentive parents that caught onto her maladjusted disposition early and that was never going to happen considering the type of person her monster of a mother is.
