I suspect if a military official tried to exert authority over them, they would fight back purely on the grounds they have no idea what that is. TSA and local PD have a pretty oppositional relation to servicemembers these days. In my opinion, it's fueled by command taking law enforcement's side in most cases so as to avoid bad PR.
