UK British News Megathread - aka CWCissey's news thread

https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

If Farage gets into power and stops even one boat, I'll delete my account and donate my laptop to boat niggers.
No need to delete your account, you add a lot to the Farms and it's always interesting hearing your POV.

As long as you change your handle to 'Boat Nigger' and the subtext to 'Daylight come an me wan go home' it's all good.

@Clem Fandango Easy, there isn't:

Labour: More pain and bullshit.

Tories: The same as 2010-2024, but they might agree to not tax the air you breathe just yet.

Lib Dems: We become the EU's whipping boy ad infinitum.

Greens: Arguably worse than what we currently have.

Reform UK: The only choice if you want lower taxes, a low cost of living and your freedoms restored.

It's akin to being accosted by five snakes - four are deadly, but one will allow you to live and isn't interested in harming you.

Here's a funny one. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...llage-bonfire-effigy-migrants-stop-boats.html
Effigies of lifejacket-wearing migrants in boats have been placed on a village bonfire in a display condemned by critics as 'sickening' and 'racist'.

A sign saying 'Stop the boats' was also attached to the pyre in Moygashel, on the outskirts of Dungannon in Co Tyrone in Northern Ireland, prompting protests.

Another of the placards included states: 'Veterans before refugees.'

Sinn Fein's Assembly member for Fermanagh and South Tyrone Colm Gildernew has been among those responding, branding the display 'vile' and 'deplorable'.

He also called for fellow politicians to take action against the installation.

The Moygashel bonfire has become well known in recent years for contentious displays.

Last year a mock police car was burnt on the top of the bonfire and in 2023 a boat designed to represent the post-Brexit Irish Sea economic border was torched.

The bonfire has been built days ahead of loyalist groups' annual Twelfth of July parades.

Okay so I've got a couple of questions;
1. What happened in the 90s? The 80s seemed like a stable decade all thoughout?
2. What the fuck happened in 2010s? Some of them literally went from 30% support to 70% support in like 5 years.
The 80s and late 90s we started to come under the globalism culture. New Labour impacted our culture directly but the ability to travel was cheaper and our media submitted to more expensive and grander American stuff. We stopped being our own nation with some imports to being part of the global culture.

2010 is the rise of current leftism. It was a culture of I don't care, leave me alone and that accounts for some of it. Propaganda and internet influences is the rest.

2025 is now (hopefully) the beginning of the end and a shift back towards a more TradCon way of living.

STEM is the worst of the immigration nightmare, the teachers don't speak English, and neither do the students. The quality of education is so phenomenally low that it boggles the mind that each unit is 1000 bucks (AUD) plus government subsidy in a class of 25 and still it's shit and getting worse. At least the humanities teachers are angloids.
I wish I could just pay to sit the exams. Skip all the lectures and the team exercises and just study the set text books and do some mock exams. Then when I was ready walk into a testing centre, prove that I knew the subject and be given a degree to show it. Would save myself many thousands and many hours. Of course that's not how it works.

I do think about how one could get a degree without giving up years of one's life. I know there's Open University in the UK but I don't know much about it or what other distance learning options there are. Or if other countries have equivalents that might be more economical.

I'm sure some boat will be stopped. What you should bet on would be if the total number goes down by one.

For humanities, maybe, for STEM, the practical side is just as important. You do need to do the labs, and you do need to understand the techniques for analysis and put them to use; and that takes a lot of time. If anything, STEM degrees could do with being a bit longer. There's a lot of very important lab work that gets left out; and the university expects you to find a placement to cover it. Just doing the exams is worthless.

I wish there was some sort of 'catch up' exam that could be given for people who absolutely know the subject inside out but require the qualification.

I know I bring up the Business Administration Level 2 a lot, but I just think it's funny as hell how a qualification for retards, which anyone who has worked in an office for 6 months would grasp inside and out can be the essential criteria for a job requirement.

The reality is, a shitload of 6th form/college level education is absolutely fucking redundant, there to get you a certificate and prevent that entire pool of kids from entering the job market for two years, which doesn't do shit as the pool from two years ago is now entering the job market at once.

But let’s not kid ourselves. Britain is broken. It didn’t start with Labour. The Conservative governments I was part of share the blame."

Good to see someone with clout say this. It's one thing when the labourists spout "broken Britain" copypasta, handed to them by mcsweeny, because you expect them to blame the other side without any sort of self-reflection. It's something else entirely when a Tory holds up his hands and admits the reality: that government is broken and that this has been decades in the making. Whether he will go on to make a meaningful effort to change things is another question...

My ex was an asshole. My new Husband is so much better..

Don't trust the snakes shitting on the tories now. They're doing it to get brown points.

Reform continues its metamorphosis into a dustbin of failed and/or beaten Tories.

Farage has also done an interview with the New Statesman as part of an article they have put together on Jenrick. The notable part of his contribution is a free admission that he is now likely to the left of the country on the issue of migration as well as the quote "I haven't fought the issue (of migration) myself, provided it comes with integration".

At least you know what voting for Reform will get you.

Legal Migration is not a problem, and I believe that is what Jenrick was referring to.

After all, Brits have the right to leave Britain and work and live in other countries and that should not change.

What we do not want is the daily invasion of unwanted human shit which adds nothing and costs everything.

If a Scientist from New Zealand wishes to come here for five years, and if he/she can contribute with fellow Scientists to cure cancer or AIDS then I welcome that.

I will never welcome Rapey and Stabby and their hundreds of cousins.

@Kofi Drinka What's the worst Reform could do? You mean apart from torture every #FBPE goon?

Well, let's take a look at what they would do:

* Sort out Brexit once and for all (GATT/Hard Brexit)
* Work to stop the wars in Ukraine and Gaza and defund any future wars (same as what Trump wants)
* Lower the cost of living
* One flat rate of tax
* End tax rules whereby you are taxed more than once (i.e Inheritance Tax)
* Cap the number of people allowed to move to the UK - either part time or full time
* Axe HS2 as it's not a necessity (and the so called 'Hanslope Agreement' can be buggered)
* Undo the damage Labour has causes and repeal all of their laws and bills
* Press for Blair and Bush Jnr. to go to The Hague Courts
* End the Woke bollocks
* Demand cash be kept as a form of payment in shops and businesses (there is talk of 'Cash Gates' coming back to sports stadiums which are currently cashless, regardless of if there is 'regime change')
* Ensure that the masters (us) are better served by them (the servants)
* Instantly axe the Green levies and the BBC (£5bn saved in one go, or they could use the Crypto Reserves to pay off our debts as a 'once only' debt payment). Alternatively, axe or write off the debts and start from scratch.
* Be pro investment and pro growth, not anti people and anti positivity.
* Be Common Sense and not Common Purpose

Above all else, Reform UK are your only chance of living a proper, happy life with greater freedom and the emphasis on you rather than them.

We only have one life, and for the past five years since 2020 it is as if happiness and really enjoying ourselves has been banned. People are miserable, people deserve better and people want change.

I am not going to say that Nigel is going to be the second coming of the Messiah, but when he is respected, even loved and adored by many people, you can either ask why this is or accept that the majority now want things their way and they won't be told 'no'. If there's one thing that the powers-that-be fear it's people refusing to go along with them and what they want as that is 'dangerous'.

When Polling Day does eventually roll around (sooner or later) it'll be up to you as to which way you vote, and I'd certainly never tell anybody here how to vote - that's your call. If you want to give Nigel a chance, or not, then that's up to you. I would, however, not write him off before he's set foot in No. 10 = if and when he does, the whole script and status quo will change and very quickly indeed.

Your choice is yours, whoever and whatever you choose.

We are told the sole point of the British monarchy is to preserve tradition for the sake of national unity. Yet the Royal Family aligns itself not with traditional values, but with degeneracy and depravity:
1752095666350.webp
The U.K. Royal Family’s X account posted a clip of the Coldstream Guards playing Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan – widely recognized as an LGBT anthem – with the hashtag #Pride2025 along with emojis of a rainbow, sparkles, and a disco ball to mark London Pride.

"Prince" Harry and Meghan Markle had previously barked the über-faggot slogan “Love is love” — i.e., that rimming, fisting and double-fisting is equivalent to holy matrimony. However,
This is the first time the Royal Family has publicly acknowledged the annual event of the LGBT movement.

The rest of the family is following the lead of Harry and Meghan:
Prince William, the heir to the British throne, has also indicated his support for the LGBT movement, appearing on the cover of the LGBT publication Attitude and stating: “The young gay, lesbian and transgender individuals I met through Attitude are truly brave to speak out and to give hope to people who are going through terrible bullying right now. Their sense of strength and optimism should give us all encouragement to stand up to bullying wherever we see it.”

That is, the creatures who have been ramming their degeneracy down humanity's throats for years now are actually the ones being bullied. No one who hasn’t spent the past decade on a desert island could believe this, but it complies with LGBT dogma.
The “Happy Pride!” message is being seen as an endorsement by King Charles of the LGBT carnival in London… It is a massive show of cultural power in the capital of a once-great empire, and even the king, it seems, feels the need to bow the knee.

In light of this, the monarchy serves no purpose at all. The British should abolish it. That would free up more tax money to spend on fag "pride" parades and to bestow upon the Fifth Worlders that their government imports to displace them.

I think Reform could do worse in government. They could attempt to do something about the issues at hand (unlikely on their current trajectory), and be viscerally incompetent at it as the institutions run rings around them. This would not only fail to solve the issues but at the same time would poison the idea of being able to vote for a better alternative government by not voting for legacy parties.

I've always considered myself a monarchist, just for the traditionalist "we don't want a President" type arguments.

But yeah, fuck this shit. First we get Charles the Islamist, and now fag Buckingham Palace. Just bin it. I could never sing "God Save The King" without fucking it up and saying "Queen". Just let it die with Liz.

Unless Wills is super, SUPER, based....

Edit:

Oh I just saw that quote by Prince William. Forget it. Get it binned.

Women's football is actually pretty entertaining. You know how you watch the Olympics and your mate with a beer gut says "I could do that" and you both laugh? Watching Women's football is one of the few sports where literally any man who can tolerate 40 minutes of cardio would clean up.
Mate after seeing an international and the warmup in person I got me missus at the time some yoga pants and goalie gloves.

That went down 0-0
