Barone took advantage of a genre/franchise that was in this weird state of limbo and wanting to expand on it, addressing issues people had with the initial genre/franchise (Harvest Moon). During the time of this game being made, those types of games were absent due to publishers and devs fighting over the rights (which is why the actual Harvest Moon titles are now called Story of Seasons), barely adding anything new for each sequel, and had nothing going for it other than "This game is now on another platform." Life sim games cannot top this game because it came out at the best and right time.

Heartbound, however, came out after Undertale. Whatever you think of Undertale, you can't deny it exploded in popularity. You probably can't go anywhere without seeing something about Deltarune, the true sequel to Undertale. All Heartbound has to its name is "that game Matthew Patrick called Undertale 2 to get clicks and caused Toby Fox to yell at him." And honestly, calling it Undertale 2 is hurtful, not to Undertale or Deltarune, but to Heartbound, because if your main comparison is literally one of the biggest RPG games from 2015, guess what people are going to play instead of "Undertale 2?"

Heartbound is the Starbound of indie games. A shell of what it tried to immitate, unfinished, no matter how much work is put into it, and ironically ending in the name bound.

Cheese grater is a dead meme, find better material.

Reading through these materials. Thanks for sharing!

There was this player N3X15 which from a glance looks like a normal slightly freaky SL nerd.
> "n3x trusts everyone and steers away from drama" (said another SL freak)
Mald seems to not like him.

Not only he played SL with Jason but he's also around the same age and lives in the same state.
This is the sort of "nerd code builder" that Maldy skinwalks a large chunk of his personality off of.

Dude seems fine, but just sharing since it could lead to something more interesting: Github & Twitter
No fucking way. Nexis was a prolific Space Station 13 developer, an ex /vg/station maintainer (as you can see on his github) and worked on Kerbal Space Program. He was highly respected, skilled, and a good guy to interact with. Why does my autism game reach everywhere?

I agree, and this is a positive point about Eric, he had vision and put in the work to make it real. Stardew Valley as you said, expanded on the genre; Heartbound didn't.

No matter the opinion on Eric, objectively speaking, he's 1000x better indie game dev than Jason.

The reason why Jason won't finish Heartbound is because he would have to stop doing Heartbound development updates on the first of each month and find something new to stream about. Like playing WoW all day.
He won't finish because there's a lot of work to do and basically nothing to gain. He has already sold it to essentially everyone who's willing to buy. After 8 years is there anyone who's waiting in the wings for the game to be finished before they pay for it?

Looks like a Dementor from Harry Potter, perhaps a heroic Mold holding a wand to fend him off, guy looks like a wizard anyway.
the idea that i have in my head looks kinda like that
in the scenter will be a bunch of video game characters with skg banner

That is horrifying and disgusting. I guess, it is Twitch, so I shouldn't be surprised. I guess his double-barrel freakout about how bad his community loved and needed it made sense to the deerkin mods.
Its more that said deerkin mods have very QUESTIONABLE social intelligence, and usually ARE porn sick, so when he confidently says its not him, its them, it shuts down the conversation quick. They lack the critical thinking to not take it personally since they are perverts, and back off
btw green or purple?
green.... possibly with subtle dollar bills. Because you know why

He was so upset when that emoji of the ferret swinging its butt got removed.
Still no monthly update on his game either. The one he promised at the first of every month starting in 2025. I am sure it will be jam-packed with content!
Know why? Because it is never getting finished.
I can't wait to see how many more rakes he steps on, on his journey to obscurity. No matter how much he bots, no matter how much he lies, he has dug his own 'online persona' grave.

The race to the bottom battle between idubbbz and Maldavius Figtree has been extremely entertaining!
Well, let's be realistic. Jason will most definitely blame the lack of an update on this whole SKG controversy he's living through. Heckin death threats, SWATing, and people being mean in his livestream chat. Be honest, Mr Kiwi Farmer. Could YOU work under these abominable conditions?

Could you even add one pixel to a level? Make a generic faggot say another hope core line that Jason doesn't fully believe himself? Could you even make your cock hard to fuck a defenseless ferret? I didn't think so!

The creator of Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons came out in support of Eric saying that Stardew Valley is going in the direction that his own series should have gone down.
