you're not trying to bring on board experienced coders with habits in other languages, youre trying to give people an 'in' to making some simple shit for fun and to try and learn.
if you're experienced and know non 0's should be true; you probably also know to look at documentation and would have your answers in the first place.
if you're new you're not even trying to minmax operands, this is a huge thing i think mald doesn't get, he never learned cool little things you can do in other environments/IDE's, he just looks at other projects and says 'yea thats cool ima do that' without knowing why they do that.

that's why something as simple looking like 'The Witness' i think comes off as fucking amazing because it's a game where you drag a damn dot across a little board and holy shit is it rewarding when you figure out where you put the stupid dot, even if it's the 500th time ( and you can usually easily ignore the pretentiousness of the game ), also that game continued to receive updates years later lol.

In practical reality, knowing that ten million people care alongside a bunch of high profile figures will matter more than one million. Democracy is a popularity contest and nothing else at the end of the day.

But this shouldn't be a huge issue either way, assuming the line is crossed - As Ross stated in his Videos, this is a pretty simple win for politicians. The ask is operating on the basis of logic that most people hold to be morally and rationally right, nobody thinks its fair to hit "Buy" and then have your shit actively reclaimed, look at the Sony digital library backlash recently. Throwing down a few basic "Don't do thats" stem most of the bleeding, don't meaningfully impact profits or firms, and looks good to pretty much every side of the european political aisle.

I think it's safe to say that politicians are more prone to pay attention to the petitions that get more attention. It's in their best interests to keep their jobs.

This "Pirate Software" guy really does just say anything. I'm starting to think I don't like him very much.

I think the saddest thing is that he is genuinely pretty good at the Social Engineering stuff. He has the confidence to lie straight to someone's face, and quick enough on the uptake to be able to play along with a live interaction to get through it "on top". I doubt he did much in-person stuff because his appearance stands out too much. Most security guards would instinctively not want to let him in anywhere, even if he was supposed to be there.

The problem is the fact that his "skill" isn't really a skill. It's a mental illness. He lacks the ability to turn that part of his brain off. Much like the kid that hacked vtech and Nintendo (except that kid was actually a savant, and good at what he did). They just cannot stop themselves from poking and taking advantage and digging themselves into a hole, sometimes legal, sometimes moral, and sometimes the rare overlap of the two.

I feel like the amount he googles himself and responds to everything is definitively self harm, but he thinks it is good because he's feeding the psychic-tapeworm that is his ego.
