The current government in Iran has to resort to repression because they are weak and are fairly unpopular, especially in urban areas, you are basically agreeing with what I said there.

Obviously Iran supported the Houthis, but the Houthis were completely blockaded during the war and Iran was reduced to trying to smuggle in minute amounts of small weapons systems on dhows, the vast majority of the weaponry and equipment the houthis used was from local stockpiles.
