That second snapshot... I've always wondered: is entering the bath wearing a towel an actual thing that happens?

I always assumed it was a censorship thing... until a few days ago I was watching some 80s-90s anime OVAs, many of which had no issue showing boobs or nudity, and yet they still had girls going to hot springs or baths and just wrapping towels around themselves like that. So now I can't help but wonder if this is a real thing that happens? And if so, why?

It's not typically done, but for some onsens, they do provide a towel for modesty reasons. Other than that, you are supposed to go into the spring nude.

Kiwibros idk if ive become too good at Trails, but i find CS1 to be short? Like sure im using turbo mode but even so the game feels short atleast content wise compared to Zero or FC. Also i havent encountered anything overly difficult and im playing on Hard. The only section that has alot of padding would be the open space where you horse ride. Already in chapter 5. Ill assume since its the introductory game in the arc, that it will be just to set up the remaining games and setting. Really liking the game though(still not top tier like Ao or Fc)

You are on track. You have three chapters left and two of them are longer than usual. CS1 took me 90 hours on hard mode with turbo turned on. CS1 is when the series goes from being 50-60 hour long games to 90+. CS3 and Reverie are obscenely long if you do everything and talk to everyone, reaching the 130+ hour long range.

Also in CS1, coming from Azure, makes me giddy knowing the trade conference in Crossbell is upon me and what that will entail.

You should play the CS games on nightmare, you get way more powerful tools than in other games so the only way to feel challenged is the hardest difficulty.

That final battle on Nightmare difficulty, tho. =B
It's supposed to be hard, and it's not as hard once you abuse the counterattack. I remember my entire party getting one-shot by a certain character who starts with the letter C using his S-craft so I had to position one of my guys behind him at all times to dodge his full area cross attack. It was really frustrating but beating him was all the sweeter. Playing Nightmare on my first playthrough always felt rewarding, especially in CS2 which gives you even more ridiculous buffs. Machine gun Emma, Nuke Laura, untouchable Fie. Rean.......

Play Nightmare.

I thoroughly enjoyed CS1 on hard difficulty up until the final battle, which I then had to spend 45 minutes retrying over and over until the RNG went my way.

The ______ battles of CS1 and CS2 were much harder than the battles you fight with your actual party.

My nigga Crow is the Randy of CS minus the pervert side. Also the whole link system can lead to basically owning encounters and even bosses with their leveled traits. Currently in Ch 6.

I have finished CS1 and gotta say after the slog that was the main game, the ending made shit worth it and honestly this has been the most excited I've been to keep playing.

Trails of Cold Steel 1
Time: 35 Hours
Difficulty: Hard
Medals: Got All 4
AP: 365
Rank A2

Honestly the game is good, not great like FC or Zero in terms of arc introduction but it is serviceable. Playing it with the knowledge of Azure really made the game more engaging, but i feel playing CS before Azure makes the game feel half empty for me despite the events of Azure just being mentioned and not having a direct impact. The game being in a school setting kinda gets a pass for being slow as fuck at time ad the downtimes are pain. Love the whole Link system and it comes clutch late game where you have max Link. This game felt easier to play, despite the difficulty, and enjoy, but when the game wants you dead it will make certain. Seeing Olivier is always a treat and learning about erebonian culture kept me invested, The gang is pretty alright although they went hard on the stereotypes and Rean being your generic anime MC along with the hidden power complete with hair change. I liked them all and each brings a perspective on the social aspect of Erebonia which makes them have more personality beyond their stereotypes. Learnign about Arianrhod was cool and going to her castle and getting my ass saved by her was hype for me, i still wanna know what led her to join Ouroboros considering her background. Overall Good game and would recommend as an entry point if you dont like the chibi artstyle.

Bosses were mostly easy, granted i was prepared and the only boss aside from loa that gave me trouble was one of the floor bosses, Seraphic Gates i think they were called. They were highly resistant to physical and since up to the point my main team was physical and one orb user, i wasn't doing enough damage. I just switched to a more Arts formation and went without a hitch. Now with that said the main point of this Azure Deity Loa Erebonius. Now by end game i was blitzing through enemies just nuking them with S-crafts since i had the glad belts. I was pretty confident going into Loa and then he proceeded to beat my ass like i owned him money. My strat was as follow:
Rean; Dps/evasion(thanks Ao) Glad Belt
Emma: Buffer. Glad belt
Elliot; Healer/Buffer
Laura; Dps Tank

Game plan was to wipe mobs with Emma s-craft, have rean and laura double team Loa while emma and Elliot buffed and cast earth wall and other buffs while occasionally dealing damage. since rean had like 50-ish eva and laura was tanky as fuck i would just have rean on the other side and leave laura with emma and elliot. i chipped at the boss and bursting it with S-crafts granted me victory in the end.

The ending made the game worth it for me. Vita is an Anguis, Sharon is an enforcer, Valimar, Crow was comrade C all this time and the whole introduction of mobile suits/ Knights was a fucking a fucking treat. The final fight with Crow is the most anime shit and the ending made me sad for Rean but honestly he wasn't gonna win agaisn't Super Mode Ordine. Feels weird to introduce the Knight fight mechanic at the end and cant imagine the people that had to wait for CS2 to release after that ending. CANT FUCKING WAIT TO PILOT VALIMAR AND FUCK PEOPLE UP. CS just turned into Gundam in my eyes and ill be playing the entries back to back.

Wait, only 35 hours? Holy shit.
The ending really is just a sequence of "what the fuck"s.
Placing all the mech battle tutorial right at the end is clearly meant to tease you for the second game, where it will be a main mechanic.
The game was originally going to have you playing as soldiers in the military (which sounds way more interesting imo), but they ultimately settled for a generic anime high school setting because Falcom feared that players wouldn't be able to connect with the cast otherwise.
One of the main glaring flaws of the game is cast bloat, not only that but everything is just centred around Rean, everyone is too busy riding his dick to get any proper development and interactions on their own; The SSS having its compact cast of four distinct characters was a perfect number of characters to get the player settled in and comfortable with, as opposed to whatever the fuck the Cold Steel arc tried to attempt.
I absolutely despise the way the story is told in CS as well; go on field trip, end on big event, go back to school and they talk about it... It starts this really bizarre storytelling trend where instead of going from sequences A to B to C... they go from A to C, and then in C, they flash back to B and deliver clunky exposition about it. It's weird as fuck and it doesn't get better.

As i said, i was prepared and carrying knowledge from previous entry really help me determine my game plan with characters and since arts dont really change much, im just replicating what ive done in the past. Doesnt help that the game showers you with some pretty strong quartz near the end. Idk if my hours are the average or not, but the game felt shorter than the others despite clocking similar time to other entries. Idk if i missed it but i thought there were gonna be some sort of ultimate weapons for characters.

It took me roughly 50 hours from what I remember. Also, arts are a complete joke in CS1, I pretty much just ended up spamming crafts and abusing AT delay considering how much CP the game shits out in your direction. This does ended up getting rectified in 2, arts get a huge boost in that game.
