Trump announces import tariffs of 50% on brazilian goods, in a letter citing censorship on american businesses by the brazilian government and political persecution of Bolsonaro and the right in Brazil.

Congressmen allied with Lula's government blame Bolsonaro for the tariffs, of course.

'Where are my mutts?', says Lula's wife to journalists, referring to Bolsonaro supporters and just government critics in general.*

*calling someone 'mutt' or a 'stray' means they are disloyal, and is most commonly used to refer to people who heavily criticize their own country while favoring foreign nations, and can be highly offensive. This offense, coming from the first lady, is the biggest display of faggotry I've seen this year.

I'm phonefagging so I apologize for the shitty formatting.

I am already seeing MAVs (shills, called MAVs for the PT project which tried to establish a official party controlled group of shills called Militancia em Ambiente Virtual translating to militancy in online enviroments) rolling out shameless appeals to patriotism and implying that anyone who is not 100% supporting Brazil to stand up to "American interference" is not a real patriot.

Absolutely fucking hilarious coming from the people whose rallies are a complete meme for having literally not a single brazilian flag ever.

Mark my words: the Brazilian government will react in absolutely retarded ways. Lula is probably gonna go begging Russia and China for help and solidarity and Putin and Xi will ignore him.

What a disgusting term for a first lady to use. Very concerning, I hope things gets better for Brazilians even if it may not happen :(

You can pretty much call them "Brazilian Wumao". It would be easier to translate it.
Putin and Xi will ignore him.
Putin's too busy with Ukraine and Xi is at a tariff war with America while striving to be the World's Top Economy.
What a disgusting term for a first lady to use.
You know what's funny? Lula have been pulling the same shit Bolsonaro pulled in his tenure: undo diplomatic neutral stance which always has been Brazil M.O.

We've never been a country to meddle in complicated international affairs such as the Israeli-Palestinian War, China-Taiwan issue, Russo-Ukranian War or some other bullshit because there's nothing to gain from having business with these kinds of conflict apart from dealing with repercussions in international trade.

Bolsonaro had its moments diplomatic PR bloopers like when he wanted to take side on whom Jerusalem belongs to which backfired. But since his reelection Lula have been hellbent on paying lip service to China, Russia and Palestine which caused negative reactions from other countries.

I mean FFS Brazilian government has some serious case of Main Character Syndrome regarding South America while Mercosul barely functions as a bloc. And now Brazil wants to be part of serious international affairs? It's like Ironheart wanting to be part of the fucking Avengers. What the shit, Brazil?

Each day Brazil firms itself as a nation to be ridiculed or pitied rather than respected. I know that it has always been the case but it's like we can't stop being a fucking Banana Republic like we're stuck in some sort of cycle of short-lived economic growth followed by a decade of recession and crisis. Can't this motherfucking country come up with a goddamn long-term plan to make this country have a stable economy? Are we doomed to be trapped in this loop of failed attempts to become a country worth fighting for?

The answer is: yes, of course we fucking are. It wasn't my intention to doompost but the people of this nation have become so desensitized to everyday problems that they've already given up. They just let nature and time take its course and that's it.

For anyone that doesnt know, long story short, Lula had a wife, she croaked and the old fart immediately did the classy thing and married a prostitute fine younger lady, enough that she could be his daughter, because it wouldnt shock anyone if this commie has some closeted pedophilic energy. He even unironically is considering her to be his political successor (because brazillian politics is a circus and the honest people are the punchline). She is extremely uneducated and is basically a trophy wife and like any trophy wife, she is gonna run her mouth at any chance she can.

And like any prostitute marrying old farts nearing the grave, she is already setting up the next lap she is gonna leap into given how she went to France alone (at the tax payer's expense, of course) and seemed to get really "friendly" with Macron (like, really friendly, dude even said she is welcome to always return...alone).

People like her are basically those tiny fishes underneath the belly of big fishes, its how they survive. The moment the big fish dies, they go look for a new one.

Patriotism in Brazil is a strange thing because the only ones that demonstrate any sort of love for the nation are either delusional, corrupt or misinformed. Anyone with resources and/or no major ties will just immigrate to a less fucked nation. The closest thing to "patriots" are those that actively despise the nation, a good chunk of its voting base and those running it but those arent the ones they want.

As it has been said, Brazil is the "aquaman" of the group and they dont really have that much bargaining power and I doubt Putin and Xi will actually try to start a beef with Trump just because the petty despots of Brazil had their fee-fees hurt.

The government will use this to milk sympathy and will no doubt use this next year, basically saying " The labour party is the only one willing to fight this horrible oppression" yeah right...
In his reply (on Facebook, in Portuguese) Lula is still going on the fiction that what happened after the election was a 'coup' - how the fuck was that supposed to work? Unarmed men seize empty government buildings....and then, what? Some coup attempt.

What happened in Brazilia was the brazillian equivalent of Jan 6, as in, its an event extremely exaggerated by the media as a "coup" even tho not a single bullet was fired and it was, at most, a symbolic gesture.

Not that it matters because the government will milk it for all its worth and use it to justify anything for the sake of *checks notes* "protecting democracy".

Then again, the evil and corrupt seek not to trick the smart minority but the dumb majority and good luck convincing the latter that they have been duped. Some seem to hold Lula almost in a semi-divine position...I mean, the guy has been president 3 times and all of them continue to be poor and stupid so I'd say Lula would make a very shitty god (who am I kidding, he would be a Zeus type of god).

Each day Brazil firms itself as a nation to be ridiculed or pitied rather than respected. The closest thing to progress the country has had in years has been with Bolsonaro (and yes, before you say that shit wasnt that much better, fair enough but how delusional one has to be to unironically say it wasnt at least a change of shit pace?) but the problem is that the country runs on its "functional dysfunctionality" and of course Covid happened during his term and his political opponents milk the whole tragedy for all it was worth to pin it all against him. It was all manipulated nonsense but good luck convincing those who can barely write their own names of that fact. There is a reason they prevented him from running again anytime soon, afterall, they seem him as a threat.

You cant change Brazil if the nation doesnt WANT to change and to change Brazil, you'd need a very very stern leader who is ready to cut the bullshit and bring order in the house, even if that might seem "unpopular" inicially.

Just saying, cheering for the tariffs is terrible optics, it feeds Lula's narrative about the Brazilian right-wing being composed of American lapdogs. (And he's actually right.)
If the opposition were any smarter, they would just forget about Bolsonaro, leave him to rot in jail, and get someone else who's more responsible as a replacement. But no, let's double down. Let's cheef on tariffs that they themselves caused to free the Great Leader from muh persecution! (blue flavor)

Lula was always anti-American and authoritarian. I hated him 20 years ago when he tried to ban guns. I got a kick out of Biden having no memory of Lula's prior stints in office and actually thought he would support the US in Ukraine. You were in the Senate when he was president the first time, dumbass!

Brazilians should be not necessarily 'cheering' threatened tariffs (remember, they aren't actually imposed yet) but asking themselves whether or not it was worth it to elect this quasi-communist scumbag. Cooler heads would not escalate and instead negotiate, instead his wife sounds more something I'd expect out of Venezuela.

I've discussed this in the Brazilian Lolcows thread already, but you summarized it well: There's no true patriotism in Brazil. In fact, this country never had. Throughout Brazilian history it was just a matter of struggle for power as one would expect of a fiefdom in the Middle Ages.

There is a fringe part of the Brazilian internet that likes to envision a better Brazil back when it was a monarchy even when such delusion is far from reality. Another bunch of useless grifters seeking support. Many of Brazil's perennial issues dates back from that period, but they want to make a utopia out of Imperial Brazil that never was.

And they're not the only ones: Communists, Integralistas (Fascists), Liberals (in the European meaning not American), Conservatives and all these so-called "ideologists" are nothing but snake oil salesmen who live off a bunch of ignorant semi-illiterate retards who are not one bit aware of the history of their own country and because of that all these political groups want to tell their own biased version of Brazilian history and gather support.

No one gives and never gave a fuck about the people or the nation. This is the kind of country Brazil is and always was.

Brazilian government also preys on the ignorance of them people through smear campaign. Right now places like Twitter and Reddit are a cesspit of leftie teenagers who really believe there are Nazi cells throughout the country. And said "Nazi cells" are just a bunch of fucking mongrel edgelords who hang out on Discord LARPing as 1488 Übermenschen just for the lolz because they know the shock value behind it.

Obviously since there's always a chance these online circlejerks have some deranged kids straight outta dysfunctional households desperate for attention they check out from reality and engage into their sick fuck fantasies like these faggots at Suzano or that Realengo lunatic which creates the perfect opportunity for journo scumbags make a false-flag out of it thus bringing us into present day, present time.

If there's any consolation to it is that someday these BreadTube jackasses will be the next ones to have a price on their head when the media focus on them and people call them out on their cringe-tier death threats to rich people or anyone who disagrees with them because the same potential some Discord edgelords have to create drama, them Twitter/Reddit fags also have.

I wish the Brazilian equivalent of Tiananmen Square incident happened to all left-wing activists instead of that buffoonery.
I'd say Lula would make a very shitty god (who am I kidding, he would be a Zeus type of god).
I don't know the Greek equivalent, so I'll go with the Nordic one: I'd say Lula would be kinda like Loki.
The closest thing to progress the country has had in years has been with Bolsonaro (and yes, before you say that shit wasnt that much better, fair enough but how delusional one has to be to unironically say it wasnt at least a change of shit pace?)
The closest thing to progress the country had was Collor undoing the import barrier and open up the country for international trade and FHC replacing a currency that wasn't worth shit to halt hyperinflation. Brazil was pretty much Weimar Germany with a Soviet style protectionism before that (you can thank the Armed Forces for that).

With that said that doesn't mean I have any kind of positive feelings towards any one of the former Presidents mentioned because their tenure was just another corrupt shit fest like the previous and subsequent ones and I expect people here have the intellectual skills to realize that instead of assuming I think their period was good or that I would vote for any of them. But in practical terms both Collor and FHC kept Brazil from becoming a lusophone Venezuela all thanks to le evul neoliberalism that Communists and Nationalists abhor so much.

That's why I don't take any of Enéas Carneiro's ideas seriously because he wanted to keep the all-present state and crushing bureaucracy the military government had. If this was on him, we'd still be driving Beetle, Kombi, Chevette or even worse Gurgel. Or we'd still have CCE for household appliances or Positivo as the only option for hardware. Thank fuck I can buy Dell or HP hardware. Even Lenovo would be a better option than whatever crap Positivo sells in retail.
I got a kick out of Biden having no memory of Lula's prior stints in office and actually thought he would support the US in Ukraine. You were in the Senate when he was president the first time, dumbass!
You really expect a doddering old bones to remember that? Besides when he first became President Lula was pretty much following the same orientation as FHC which explains why his first tenure was stable economically speaking. So much for being "Communist".

As expected the government is really pushing for patriotism like the fucking hypocrites they are, and the results are fucking abysmal as expected. We already have the bots and MAVs spamming social media to gaslight people into thinking PT was ever patriotic or gave a shit about Brasil. Leftists castigating anyone who even tries to suggest that maybe Lula shouldn't have been poking Trump with his BRICS LARP and showing anything other than full support, and some particularly delusional retards claiming that Brazilians should boycott the USA and their products.

Particularly funny is the people who are demanding that the USA be repaid with tariffs on their stuff, since Brazil already tariffs shit from the USA by a LOT more than what Trump did. In fact, if Brazil had a 50% tariff a lot of american products like iPhones and sneakers would be cheaper than they currently are.

Here is a good show of the sort of masterful propaganda they have put out:

Of the 20 items on the pack, 7 government programs or welfare and one is the fucking electronic voting machine. Also the football player is Marta, which is a woman. Why not use Neymar? Because last election he voted Bolsonaro but Marta said nothing either way. Extra funny to feature a caramel colored dog as well, since it is a mutt and they have been very busy calling anyone who criticizes the government a mutt (Vira-Lata).

And the amusing thing is Grace spent all of that money from the government on her shopping trips :story: Wonder if Lula's newest wife would do the same thing, or is privately doing the same thing.

She is doing the same thing. Including using the Brazilian Air For as a taxi service as she recently had it take her to a doctor appointment and went to Russia way ahead of Lula in a flight where it was rumored she was stacking a shitload of baggage of stuff she was buying.

There is a website called Janjômetro (you need to sign up to see the breakdown, for some fucking reason) dedicated exclusively to calculating how much money she spent on luxuries. It's already at 117 million reais, and that's only counting the things that are public information like events and travel/hotel costs, who knows how much she spent on clothing items and trinkets.

Keep that in mind next time you pay monthly tax #42. Its going towards funding the buying spree of the president's trophy wife.

At least the finger guns man is gone, right?

Before you say that Bolsonaro is bad too, fair enough but are you unironically saying that it would be literally the same if it was him elected instead of Lula?
I hope Brazilians are more observant than Canadians.

Nah, you can shove them in a room with all the walls painted red, they'll somehow only see the color blue.

Brazillians dont really..."care" about anything. They are extremely demoralized/apathetic towards nearly anything that isnt degeneracy, crime, get rich quick schemes, celebs, TV drama, annoying as fuck loud music, parties and an almost religious devotion towards soccer. Most of the youth has practically no ambitions worth a damn. Most also have an extremely short attention spam, seems oddly genetic.

They may complain, sure, but they almost never...DO anything. And most that join the political scene with the intention on improving things usually dont get too far, from a mixture of corruption, political sabotage and brazillians not giving a shit about politics (you try to explain something political to them and they WILL get bored and uninterested very quick). The only thing that peeks their interests are "welfare check" and 6/1 work day scale getting replaced with something that WILL make things worse (as it always does).

Its a normalized intense cultural apathy thats honestly part of the nation for a couple of decades.

"Whats the point of getting rid of corruption if the system is so corrupt that it will just replace it with more of the same?"

You can get hoe off the streets, you cant get the streets off the hoe.

As I said, the moment Lula croaks, she isnt sticking around and is jumping ship to whatever lap is willing to cushion her fall.

Its how women like her survive.

Would Lula be as asinine as to force an economic blockade on America? For as senile as he is would he risk having Americans answer that with an embargo on Brazil?

I really wanted to know what's the origin of this meme because this seems like a meme coming straight out of a Brazilian imageboard. If that's the case, it would be very ironic and funny.
I hope Brazilians are more observant than Canadians.
You don't know Brazilians very well, do you?
