For anyone that doesnt know, long story short, Lula had a wife, she croaked and the old fart immediately did the classy thing and married a
prostitute fine younger lady, enough that she could be his daughter, because it wouldnt shock anyone if this commie has some closeted pedophilic energy. He even unironically is considering her to be his political successor (because brazillian politics is a circus and the honest people are the punchline). She is extremely uneducated and is basically a trophy wife and like any trophy wife, she is gonna run her mouth at any chance she can.
And like any prostitute marrying old farts nearing the grave, she is already setting up the next lap she is gonna leap into given how she went to France alone (at the tax payer's expense, of course) and seemed to get really "friendly" with Macron (like, really friendly, dude even said she is welcome to always return...alone).
People like her are basically those tiny fishes underneath the belly of big fishes, its how they survive. The moment the big fish dies, they go look for a new one.
I am already seeing MAVs (shills, called MAVs for the PT project which tried to establish a official party controlled group of shills called Militancia em Ambiente Virtual translating to militancy in online enviroments) rolling out shameless appeals to patriotism and implying that anyone who is not 100% supporting Brazil to stand up to "American interference" is not a real patriot.
Absolutely fucking hilarious coming from the people whose rallies are a complete meme for having literally not a single brazilian flag ever.
Mark my words: the Brazilian government will react in absolutely retarded ways. Lula is probably gonna go begging Russia and China for help and solidarity and Putin and Xi will ignore him.
Patriotism in Brazil is a strange thing because the only ones that demonstrate any sort of love for the nation are either delusional, corrupt or misinformed. Anyone with resources and/or no major ties will just immigrate to a less fucked nation. The closest thing to "patriots" are those that actively despise the nation, a good chunk of its voting base and those running it but those arent the ones they want.
As it has been said, Brazil is the "aquaman" of the group and they dont really have that much bargaining power and I doubt Putin and Xi will actually try to start a beef with Trump just because the petty despots of Brazil had their fee-fees hurt.
The government will use this to milk sympathy and will no doubt use this next year, basically saying " The labour party is the only one willing to fight this horrible oppression" yeah right...
In his reply (on Facebook, in Portuguese) Lula is still going on the fiction that what happened after the election was a 'coup' - how the fuck was that supposed to work? Unarmed men seize empty government buildings....and then, what? Some coup attempt.
What happened in Brazilia was the brazillian equivalent of Jan 6, as in, its an event extremely exaggerated by the media as a "coup" even tho not a single bullet was fired and it was, at most, a symbolic gesture.
Not that it matters because the government will milk it for all its worth and use it to justify anything for the sake of *checks notes* "protecting democracy".
Then again, the evil and corrupt seek not to trick the smart minority but the dumb majority and good luck convincing the latter that they have been duped. Some seem to hold Lula almost in a semi-divine position...I mean, the guy has been president 3 times and all of them continue to be poor and stupid so I'd say Lula would make a very shitty god (who am I kidding, he would be a Zeus type of god).
Each day Brazil firms itself as a nation to be ridiculed or pitied rather than respected. I know that it has always been the case but it's like we can't stop being a fucking Banana Republic like we're stuck in some sort of cycle of short-lived economic growth followed by a decade of recession and crisis. Can't this motherfucking country come up with a goddamn long-term plan to make this country have a stable economy? Are we doomed to be trapped in this loop of failed attempts to become a country worth fighting for?
The closest thing to progress the country has had in years has been with Bolsonaro (and yes, before you say that shit wasnt that much better, fair enough but how delusional one has to be to unironically say it wasnt at least a change of shit pace?) but the problem is that the country runs on its "functional dysfunctionality" and of course Covid happened during his term and his political opponents milk the whole tragedy for all it was worth to pin it all against him. It was all manipulated nonsense but good luck convincing those who can barely write their own names of that fact. There is a reason they prevented him from running again anytime soon, afterall, they seem him as a threat.
You cant change Brazil if the nation doesnt WANT to change and to change Brazil, you'd need a very very stern leader who is ready to cut the bullshit and bring order in the house, even if that might seem "unpopular" inicially.
