Not that it matters much, blending such small textures is not a problem for a modern CPU.

The interesting part is the first third. They focus on Jason's "special" lighting code and how inefficient it is. And its true.

But what makes it funny is that I'm sure someone here posted a clip where Jason specifically jerks himself off while claiming how great his "lighting system" is.

It's real but I can't seem to find it right now. He showed it off and talked about how he wrote it himself.

I've known people like this that I know for a fucking fact are competent enough to just drum up a quick shell script to automate a repetitive task, but they do it manually because it takes up more time and makes it look like they're doing work while they effectively zone out while listening to podcasts or some shit. First time I've seen this behavior on a stream before though... he doesn't have a boss he needs to fool anymore, but I guess old habits die hard.

Every text editor worth a damn supports macros or has some sort of pattern-matching find and replace. He's just bad at using his tools like he's bad at everything else he does.

It's worth mentioning that anything can run "on a fridge" if you use cloud streaming (https://x.com/Andy_VGC/status/1315920909442658305), and although I haven't seen the famous fridge video, I doubt it shows proof that it's actually running on device.

It's all moot.

He really is malding so bad, he stopped everything to ban people again. He did that earlier when I tuned in. Someone asked about it and he said it's better to "deal with them now" and that "this is fatherless behavior."

There are always good messages buried in there.

I've left it up for over 10 minutes now and he hasn't touched anything on his screen. Someone asked "How many lines of code written today" and Mald said "None." and that he's been fixing the blockgame economy by editing the config file and that it's taken him 12 hours. I'm sure mindlessly editing the config file one character at a time is the best way to go about that.

Mald got upset at someone asking about changing how the game lighting works, probably because of Code Jesus' recent video, and Mald played the fridge video again and brags that he wrote the game framework 8 years ago and says he only has to write dialogue now.

Then he ended the stream and instantly privated everything.

unless you watched some other video I have no idea how you came to that conclusion, it’s just a blank canvas in VRAM you can draw to. Read the docs on surfaces. You kinda just set it once and forget about it unless the screen gets resized or you need to draw to it.

When he made a video a long time ago talking about his amazing lighting system I figured he was just using surfaces. What he’s doing isn’t even really ray tracing. It’s only moving from side to side and creating a fake gradient. What he’s doing with his code could be accomplished with a simple sprite with an alpha

He doesn't know WTF he is talking about. You can highlight banned messages with better Twitch TV so they stand out.
His stream just finished. I'm pretty sure he got to over 2K banned this stream. From the time I tuned in to see how it was going until it ended, all he was doing was watching the ban number go up and talking about all the dirtbags being banned. That's all he did for what must have been over half an hour. He's a very special boy.

Either way, it's not like running a GameMaker game on some generic quad-core ARM board is all that impressive. From what I have gathered some smart fridges even use an i5, and it's not exactly a feat to run x86 software on an x86 CPU. There's nothing to boast about and it has nothing to do with his code. People aren't compiling it from source to run on exotic hardware(they can't since it's proprietary), and these smart fridges aren't all that exotic. They're more powerful and closer to modern PCs than 6th gen consoles.
