I've always seen the 'retroslop' avatars posted around and seen the anime faces and blushes and rainbow shit and associated it all with elements and tropes of greater porn addiction/gooning/early porn introduction fetishism. Bright flashy colors and cute uwu faces, thigh highs, femboyism, pride flags, etc. Same kind of 'soft' porn addiction humor as boykisser and cropped porn memes. Where they take the tropes and recognizable elements from the pornography they're chronically addicted to and start to integrate it into every facet of media they consume because it's become such an engrained part of their internet social cultures. It's all rooted and derived from fetishism even if it's superficially safe for work. Especially when they call themselves goobers. Coincidental perhaps, but 'b' is just one key away from 'n' and 'goomer' sounds like it would probably hit a little too close to home.
