Its Mass Media not Media for a few thousand dipshits on 4chan's pol board. I'm on the free speech side of the fence but there is venues and platforms where that kind of stuff is not permissible and Sam Hyde got his knuckles bruised by the yardstick for good reason. The fact that World Peace was the worst performing original of that era of Adult Swim and the fact it was radioactive played more into its cancellation than anything. Reruns of King of the Hill were pulling 3-4x the viewership let alone trash like Rick and Morty, expecting Adult Swim to hold a burning coal in their hand for a dud is crazy.

Like Extreme Peace, but Sam chimping out because he's getting one-upped by someone else is tottaly in line with his character. He absolutely cannot take a joke about himself, and yet 100% do the same kind of shit Harland did to him on PGL if he had the chance.

I hope the show's done well enough to warrant more, but man, if Nick and Charls thought Sam being a poor impulse control retard fucked then over on WP, imagine how burnt that bridge is if EP flops as a result of thid.

Samtrannies trying to spin this as a Sam W or something is insane. I don't have the highest opinion on Nick and Charls but they are way funnier than him and don't deserve this crap, they should ditch him for good and start working with Andy Ruse again. Probably won't happen tho, they looked like little kids who are scared of their anger-issues-dad during this whole thing, specially Nick.
Sam can't really into comedy anymore and this exposed him hard: his roid-fried brain can't riff so he chimps out and destroys the hosts property and puts his hands on a 60 years old man (Christ is king y'all!) because he doesn't let him do his boring pseudointellectual schtick or whatever. I never thought I would see Sam begging for the conversation to be "serious", just compare this with his Fantano interview. I guess it was better than just another boring podcast tho, I can't say I didn't laugh watching the episode, so maybe it was 5D chess?

i don't understand what you're arguing for besides just picking the winning side and trying to score points for being correct

you're saying that the gatekeeping that the media was doing during that era was keeping content like world peace off of the air because it ostensibly isn't profitable and the purpose of the gatekeepers is to maintain profitability. that's how i think most people would describe the purpose of media gatekeepers. but the show pulled in like two million viewers at 3am, that's insanely ridiculously good for a late night watershed television block that normally runs infomercials. the whole purpose of a cable network is to cut time slots into marketable segments and they literally gave them exactly what they were paid to do

so this flip flopping to "but king of the kill brought in 3x the viewership at 7pm prime time" is just... you're literally arguing against yourself dude. what is it? are they gatekeeping for money, or gatekeeping for ideology? because it obviously wasn't the money

The issue is that Sam hyde is one of those guys who does want to be the puppet master and tries to dominate everyone on their own podcast, but Harland is even better then Sam is at taking nothing seriously ever and his usual domination tactics didn’t work at all.

It can be annoying at times to be around a guy like sam who feels the need to try to own every room he walks into, he always starts negging the second he talks to someone new to try and throw them off so he can dominate the situations and be it’s puppet master, when it fails like this, he should just play it cool and goof around with the guy, not keep pushing it so hard that he embarrasses himself.

I've always liked the stuff Sam puts out but this whole Harland thing is just further proof that he's a cow at heart. Jew/indian jokes are a pretty embarrassing crutch and he really doesn't have anything else going for him comedically. PGL and EP are so self-serious and the shtick is tired unless its wrapped in interesting aesthetics, and even then it's pretty flaccid at this point.

Harland may be a whore that runs like 40 ad reads an episode but he's a legit funnyman and routinely humiliates people. It doesn't even seem like his modus operandi, he's just a goofy guy who finds easy opportunities to felt comedy hacks like David Lucas, Rogan, etc. If someone rolls with him he's more than happy to just riff. I've always known the hardcore Sam fans are complete dick sucking faggots, but holy shit the reaction to this is so retarded.

Out of context, seeing Sam flip the table etc is funny, but in context it's clearly just an impotent roid-rage chimpening complete with trying to pass it off as a meme when he can't physically dominate someone. It wasn't a "haha Sam is making this so uncomfortable this is kino" kind of situation, it was just actually uncomfortable and not an inspiring look for the mystique he tries to keep up.

Yet another Canadian comedy old-guard W.

That's absolutely not a bit that Sam does over and over, especially in recent years. In recent years the biggest criticism against him is being too serious by giving advice to young guys. Although this too has slowed way down since he stopped streaming.

No offense to you specifically, just using your post as an example.

A problem with this thread is people make posts like this that are factually wrong and then if someone tries to correct that point they get jumped on for gunt guarding Sam.
