But this one broke me. The fact that she is actually considering telling her father she has sexual feelings toward him and hoping he feels the same. How fucking sick in the head and utterly delusional can you be to actually think such a thing is legit . Does she think that, what, her father would tell her he feels the same and they would run off to the sunset together (although she says she doesn't even have feeling for him "in a romantic way"), or perhaps she thinks they would bang secretly behind her mother back? While I do not have proof, I'd bet that "Achillean" was made up on tumblr by fujos/proto-pooners/actual pooners after "Sapphic" got popular in the gender fandom because they felt left out and tumblr is ground zero for most of the retarded gender shit. So the sub is 1/3rd apology/leave forever posts, 1/3rd trans men are men you gaiz, and 1/3rd CONSERVATIVES ARE HECKIN UNWELCOME!

Edit: oh, also, the gayconservative mod claims to have taken over the sub to enforce a heavy handed pro trans policy, and demonstrably is, but this isn’t enough to stop them from making the users feel heckin unsafe.

I've never seen anyone outside of academia think this was trans representation. It's not a very LGB friendly story either: Iphis when praying/complaining says her lesbianism is worse than bestiality and against nature.

Arguing about the gender or sexuality of that sort of stuff outside of an interest in history is pointless. It's the 'but this exotic nudibranch can change gender when you cut it's cock off' argument but less obvious. We don't live in ancient greece, we don't live their reality, you can't just bring back a certain part of some extinct culture simply because it suits your sexual desires or mental issues. There is the story of Kallipateira, although it is closer to history than mythology. Usually women trying to watch athletic competitions would be served the death penalty. Kallipateira was the only one who ever got away with it. She dressed as a man to see her son compete in wrestling. He won the game and due to her excitement she accidentally outed herself as female. She was let off the hook however to show respect to her family (her father, her brothers, her nephew and her child were all Olympic champions).

You can see that this is an instance of breaking repressive laws and not one of fetishistic crossdressing.
