I think he wants to say he hates Reddit's LiveStreamFail subreddit since it's big and is known for dunking on him specifically, but complaining about LSF is weak aura so he obfuscates by saying he hates Reddit as a whole which is a true and virtuous stance with strong aura. If he cared so much and it was so important he takes care of all these people and the ferrets and it wasn't an ego thing, couldn't he just admit he was wrong about this stuff?
