Did not see anyone mention Fortnite Blitz, so I'll speak on it.

FORTNITE BLITZ! Do you like very fast paced matches with perks? PLAY FORTNITE BLITZ!!!
You start off with a random weapon and 2 bubble shields. The map is small, but in the style of OG, sorta. After a certain point when enough players die, you'll receive rewards: Medallion perks, legendary guns, etc. You'll be facing against about 15 players. I've noticed as I played that the players here are pretty skilled or just bots.

If you want a free skin or a cool umbrella, play Blitz, and check your quests.

Blitz is fun for shitting on mobile players.

Found these bunkers while playing. Bunkers coming back. I've not noticed them opening yet.
 
I'm probably not going to be playing for a bit; the game's actually gotten kinda decent again, even though the sweats and "competitive players" keep whining and getting everything nerfed, I just have a gigantic backlog of both other games and some personal projects that I need to get through. Won't say that this is my favorite season, but it's solid overall.

I've noticed that there are a large chunk of glitches this season, though; ranging from quests completing randomly to certain objectives refusing to spawn, it probably one of the more frustrating stories to go through. In fact, I can't even continue with the current story because the targets I need to shoot will not spawn, even after multiple matches.

Aside from that, the cosmetics are... a mixed bag. Not really a Bruno Mars fan, though Superman looks alright. The OG season is alright, while the superhero ones are also fairly solid. Don't know if I'm going to be buying the pass, as everything is so middle-of-the-road, but there is some decent stuff this go around. I'm hoping/waiting for something special, honestly; been looking for a cool dragon/dinosaur skin for a long while, hoping for a better remix of Hybrid than the Drakon Steel version we had about a year ago, preferably with the option to actually customize the dragon instead of the outfit.

EDIT: Found a video about a guy having a meltdown that the Street Fighter skins returned; not sure if it's a fake video, but knowing how the "OG" players love to gatekeep their precious pixels, it may very well be legit:

Blitz I feel captures everything I like about Fortnite, mixes it together nearly perfectly, and because it's so brief and condenses BR so well no wonder it's addicting.

I really hope they bring Blitz back after it ends in some form like Reload. I get more enjoyable out of 3 matches of Blitz, then I do out of a single regular BR.

Blitz is fun, my only real gripe is the specifically gun lootpool is riddled with a bunch of chapter 5 and 6 weapons and they all suck donkey balls. All the ARS, SMGS, pistols, etc are just worse than the weapons that were available in previous chapters. I don't really understand why Epic has been neutering guns with each coming season but it's really annoying. Make the gun lootpool the same as Reload and it'll be a lot more fun.

Who brings a gun to a waterbending fight?

Blitz is fun right now, but I imagine it can easily turn to shit with the wrong medals and/or special abilities.

Getting a poor loadout sucks but at least it's over quickly, I just think it would benefit in the long term if they return more un-neutered OG weapons. They NEED to fix that piece of shit mobile game UI that takes up the entire screen when you level up though, I've died a lot because of that shit.
 
Not sure how many of you lot play Save The World, but if any of you do, the newest update absolutely gutted the Plasmatic Discharger by fixing the bug that made it really good, its ability to inflict multiple hits on a single target. This completely decimates its capability to kill Smashers and the Storm King's final phase. The discharger was broken and perhaps people were relying on it way too much, but unfortunately this remove pretty much any reason to use it at all. You can still use it for crowd clearing but your ammo pool's going to be gone after a single mission.

It's a really awful change as late game content was basically only made bearable by that bug. Endgame content with husks above the maximum player level is now borderline unwinnable without heavy trap spam.
We can only hope they realize how poor the balance is and either legitimize the bug or nerf Smashers heavily. They've walked back a few nerfs before, so it could happen, however unlikely.

I expect with all these "fuck you" changes as of late that they'll shortly fix all the survivor and defender bugs that people like and use to cheese. But not the ones that are actually detrimental to the game, they'd never!
 
Speaking of STW, they've gotten a new weapon, but with an unique perk and collection book slot which is a first in years.

Can someone explain what Brick Life even is? Is it like a child friendly social game, or is it Epic's attempt to dip into Roblox's territory?
 
I think Blitz Royale is being made into a permanent gamemode; saw a few people on YT talking about it a few days ago, but I can't find the post. Anyone got confirmation?
