I for one would like them to be changed in a way that makes them more racist.

Also I get they kind of just have "given up" on some of the designs, but I'd love if the tank sets looked tanky instead of "normal set + some armor in spots".

If we ever get a "not-Africa" expansion like we did for "not-South America" it will be so fucking funny. There's no way the fucking Japanese won't accidentally make it racist, even if just a little, and the online trannies will have glorious levels of spergout for years after.

The most recent set for tomestones is just outright plate armor based off of Steiner's gear. Though not the same helmet as he actually does wear a helmet partially based off a Morion "conquistador" helmet.

I faintly recall Korean players complaining about cash shop outfit years ago because of colonialism and SE renamed it in response.
There was another outfit in the shop that made people rage because of culture or whatever. I forgot what it's called and can't be assed to look it up but it was the outfit that looked like a villager's peruvian mountain clothes with like a beanie instead of a hat.

It was the winter outfit they sold. It had the very litigious Sami shitting their britches over the outfit. It went nowhere.

It's just the annual xpac outrage session. At least it's not a lalafell chair this time around.
Call me optimistic but this also wouldn't have as much traction if people didn't hate Dawntrail. Whether it be the story, the content, or whatever offends these Bluesky trannys theres a lot to be unhappy about this xpac. Outside of the forced positivity and white knights players are realizing that post-Endwalker (or even Endwalker depending, on who you ask) was no mistake, the game is declining and is stuck on this path for the time being.

Some of the notable gooners on my server are quitting and all they care about are nightclubs and ERP. It really shouldn't even matter what direction the game is taking for them.

Vibes are just off, I guess. Everyone's pissed.

Dawntrail has reached a CATASTROPHIC new low of 25% positive reviews in the last 30 days, it now is only a few % off from being Overwhelming Negative

Dawntrail Steam Reviews July 18th 2025.webp
How long until Twitter/Bluesky trannies try to review bomb it back to mixed like they did before?

I'd argue that the people who would be upset about that sort of nonsense are the ones who are gunt guarding Dawntrail (...and Wuk...and Sena....and Kate...) the most.

It's like you said: they were tailoring the game towards those retards and now they're reaping what they've sown.

The only question is whether they're going to course correct or double down on the nonsense.

I am being snide here, but it once again shows: only catering to hardcore raider is not the way to go. As far as I can tell, that is the only demographic that is somewhat happy with Dawntrail, since skipping cutscenes won't lose them much and they tend to get some cool toy in every patch. Every other demographic has been kind of left to die:

Story content has been fairly bad, MSQ speaks for itsself, side content is forgettable (XI raid) to awful (beast tribe quests).
The graphic update has disgruntled a lot of dollhouse players who didn't like the changes to their characters. Dye channels are incredibly bad for certain gear options at times.
Casuals thought they would get something fun with OC, but somehow they didn't deliver.
People who generally vibe with whatever content are put off because patch cycles are getting longer and longer.

Slightly related to that: There has been a famitsu interview with the battle designers of Arcadion.
It is fairly boring imo, I am just absolutely amazed that they have so many people working at a single piece of content. Either it is their main focus (which I can believe) or they are absolutely overrun with designers and can just put one per fight. Yes, I can see designing these fights being a lot of work (kinda..) but having 5 people for 4 fights (and this is not accounting for their teams who actually put the things together, those are only the designers) that release every 8 months seems rather excessive.

My problem with the XIV team is that they effectively think there's two types of content:
1) Casual content that you can do with any rando rouletters. This must be piss-easy and basically be impossible to fail at.
2) Sweaty content that requires preformed groups with tons of cohesion and coordination.

Back in the day, we had plenty of hard content that was still doable for a group of random schlubs and didn't require autistic coordination, PFs, or discord faggotry. That level of content kinda exists in the form of EX nowadays but it's shockingly sparse and unrewarding for how much of the playerbase it would appeal to if they made more of it.

These days even casual content feels like it's too much for most players.
On one hand I'd like slightly challenging stuff as a casual. EXes are okay but once you get what you need, there's no incentive to come back, especially if it's current. On the other hand, I'd like to not be trapped or inconvenienced by players who are so bad at the game each time I hop into a queue.
Even now you have people complaining that shit is too hard. To this day, I STILL get people who instantly leave Orbonne Monastery or Tower at Paradigm's Reach every time.
That's not even touching on how lately I've gotten into groups that have actually wiped on LoTA and WoD.
The majority of people who play this game now are add on/plugin obsessed faggots living complete double lives who spend more time RPing their pedophilic rape fantasies than actually playing the game.

Have no clue how they will do it, but a balance has to be struck.

>it's gooks
lmao of course it is.
This is just them continuing a campaign that failed back during stormblood where they were genuinely upset about certain outfits that were worn by Japanese occupiers of Korea hundreds of years ago being included in the game, and their outrage fell entirely on deaf ears. Mad about that failed attempt they've continued looking out for any clothing to complain about. I would not be surprised if this square-jawed race of people were actually behind the "Sami clothes" nontroversy a few years ago.

JP players will use DF for savage raids. Usually for reclears but it's doable. Stinky gaijin too afraid.
