Going through the public court calendars for Stearns County and the judge's home county she only had cattle calls in the morning, which got hopes up that maybe she could let Nick's hearing bleed into the rest of the afternoon that was wide open and not confine it to a half-hour like Melton's hearing (which per Judge Ole's order is being treated more or less like it's consolidated with Nick's anyway), but no more. At some point rescheduling of an unrelated third HRO just put Nick ass-up against a hard out at 2:30, so unless the judge and parties agree to let the third group "play through" so to speak (which often happens if there's a default or settlement), this really is going to be in and out with no time for any drama queen nonsense. Thanks for this- I had looked at day of scheduling and the judges usually looked fairly busy. I didn't think to look ahead (not that it would have mattered, apparently).

I know people like to shit on Kandiyohi for being small, but doing that to Stearns is just (contextually) wrong- Stearns County is a larger sized county for Minnesota, 8th by population. As such, the judges in Stearns have a fairly full docket, all the time. Kandiyohi is down the list (actually 23rd which still puts it in the top half) around 45,000. Both its court schedule and its jail roster are smaller. Yeah, neither is the Twin Cities or even Duluth, but the small town horseshit you see in Kandiyohi doesn't fly in Stearns.

(Except the potential ex parte shit around Aaron's sentencing, but that could have been just incompetence. I think that's more down to the judge than the political environment.)

No matter how perfectly that masterpiece distills everything needed to get the point across, and no matter how funny it would be to see (or read in a transcript) Clark's visceral reaction to it both as a judge and as a mother, I at least hope Montgomery was smart enough to insist that Aaron or Slampiece or a paralegal or somebody actually compile timestamps and local archives for each of the original sources referenced in @Third World Aristocrat's description page and the Melton thread, and get all of those into MNDES also as a backup to be taken under advisement should the need arise. After seeing how the Barneswalker leveled forests bitching and moaning about "muh wuddermark" you can be damned sure that he will flip his lid with objections galore about any attempt to get the TWA edit (or any other edits similarly seeming to take a side) formally admitted into evidence, and even if those objections get overruled, the judge could still take it to heart that all the "editorializing" by music and effects may "go to the weight" of the evidence and discount it to some degree in her reasoning.
