Besides the already-mentioned gay-ops of signing up with the username of the person you want doxxxxxxed, sometimes people who sign up with the same username everywhere else have some valuable information to post about; for example, if @ferret vermin didn't take it on the chin and left the site after being phonebooked, the fallenchungus thread could have missed some juicy behind-the-scenes info on Printern (game fallenchungus was basically an ideas guy for), which would certainly be a loss for some of the funny.

I don't think it's very malicious to show them how bad their opsec is before they write something they would rather not have associated with their real name. If hey are smart, they will be back on a more secure account and take the warning more seriously. If they are dumb enough to give us serious milk, they will just keep using their compromised account. But if you make basic mistakes like reusing usernames, someone will dig it up. It's better for you if that someone is doing it for fun and will warn you before you compromise yourself further than someone doing it because they hate you and want to mess with you.

People like Alex are the only ones who're really worth dawcksing anyway, the random info dumps on degens is a nice little funny shot every once in a while but it's rarely ever actually thread worthy; and 99% of the time it's just reddit posts/deviant art accounts anyway, only reason it's not thrown into those (topical) threads is because infighting bad.

Not a fan of most long-lasting DMs that develop some insular autistic culture to them. I avoid those. Limited purpose DMs can be very useful for putting together a dox on someone without causing them to DFE before everything is archived, though. For instance, the Jake Alley thread started that way because he was actually really difficult to dox (he was done in by the Patreon hack).

The only thing that's needed is someone with a slow/boring day, and voilà, you now have the true Kiwifarms experience (troll the whole forum's active userbase, and have everyone following along willfully because it's fake entertainment).
