General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

I have two takeaways from this.

One: What a time to be alive. A time where I sit and find myself watching an AI assisted anime puppet broadcasting the voice of a woman with some kind of cancer-AIDS quitting her anime puppet job. The question "What are we all doing?" dawned on me more than once.

Two: This v-tuber stuff, as it stands, is a house of cards. In the process of bullying Gator I have come to the realization that there some deep deep rot imbedded in all of this. It's not mainstream. It's incredibly niche. It's rife with some really weird fucking people. I've said this before but one of these days you'll see a video like this and there will be some dark shit that comes out.

Waiting patiently for it's collapse.
We've been through like four or five 'collapses' since this entire space got started and every time it comes back just fine. People thought the end of the pandemic would kill vtubing and it's still going strong. People thought the Kizuna Ai drama or the copyright apocalypse or the mass exodus from corpos would kill vtubing...

>Niji does Niji shit
>Hololive loses a chunk of their biggest EN girls
>Vshojo imploding again

The future is Phase, anons
What's even more hilarious is this happens the moment Froot comes back. You can't make this shit up.

Froot's never one to miss a chance to step on her 'friends' even if she does it completely unconsciously. She has to have been cursed by some kind of minor trickster deity to so consistently bring this level of misfortune and humiliation wherever she treads.

To clarify, I don't want you to lose your fun. I just want to watch a shitshow.

I wouldn't say it's a matter of losing fun. Pretty much every oldfag in this thread pines for the time when vtubing was smaller and more tightly-knit and you could actually get supas read by your oshi and even the most popular talents would do wacky oddball shit.

But it's just not realistic.

True, it's like wishing for the old internet to come back. It just ain't happening. This place is about as close as you can get, which is why they do everything in their power to shut it down.

Lmaooo, Rest in piss
Honestly, this is such a clusterfuck of a situation that there's not way there's not extreme amounts of corruption internally when it comes to payments, and possibly that they're deep in the red already.
I've never watched Ironmouse, and even I knew about her immune deficiency issues and her attachment to the IDF (Immune Deficiency Foundation). It'd be one thing to cheat Ironmouse out of her money. She'd probably look the other way or forgive them, even for a million dollars. She just seems geared like that. But to cheat the charity she loves out of their money is utterly retarded. The moment Ironmouse raised the question of why they hadn't been paid yet, some financial dude should have been like "oh shit, it fell through the cracks, let me set that payment up right here while we're on the phone."

The fact they didn't should be a massive red flag to anyone who still works for them or supports one of their company's talents. Any talent in there should be looking for an exit plan. So far it seems like everyone has gotten to keep their models so there is literally no reason to not jump ship. This, mixed with Zentreya and Matara leaving for undisclosed reasons, has almost certainly killed VShojo. They're not like Niji where they can just take the hit because a majority of their market is in another demographic, separated by vast cultural and major language differences. Put a fork in them, they're done.

Eventually Phase will probably implode for one reason or another. Independent seems the way to go. Or cashing in on a corpo followed by fucking off and going indie once you're stable Gawr Gura style

she just took a big stinky emotionally manipulative dump all over that company. are they japanese? they're going to have to drive a blade into their abdominal aorta.
As others said they're a US company, but I think what makes this the bigger story is that VShojo has always been the "we're not like other girls" of VTuber corpos. The bulk of their talent recruitment marketing has been advertising that they offer "talent freedom" unlike those dirty Idol Culture companies who have rules and guidelines, and they very specifically pander to the Twitter socialist crowd who think standard business practices like the company retaining the vtuber's IP ownership are inherently exploitative.

Her going straight for the emotionally-driven "they stole money from this charity that means so much to me" angle is actually genius, because it completely nulls and voids all the virtue-signalling marketing they've done over the last few years. This isn't the kind of thing they can dig their way out of by reshuffling a few managers around; they sold themselves as the good guy corpo, and now everyone knows they're not good guys.

It's not even like they can start panic-selling parts of the business, since aside from the merch they don't really own anything; I would not be surprised if the other talents all bounced as soon as their contracts are up too, because they all own their respective IPs and have absolutely nothing incentivising them to stick around.

Hololive wins against Vshojo again lmao.

Vshojo faggots loved to go on about how "erm. Hololive and Nijisanji are the hallmarks of black companies!" Yet the irony is, Hololive STILL is very profitable as a company and even the loss of Gawr Gura has not actually collapsed EN. I still see regular amounts of support for them with a good chunk of the Gura audience still being retained and instead spread throughout the other talents.

Hell, Hololive has yet to have any case of avoiding a donation to charity much less jewing out on their talents with payments. The talents of Hololive didn't leave because of a clique like how Niggersanji did. They also didnt leave because staff refused to give them their money. Hell, even the delayed payments that Cover had last year were fixed and did not have long-term effects on Hololive's reputation.

Overall, Vshojo really showed how they fucked up bad in comparison to Hololive. I dont think Niggersanji has even done donations/avoided to donate to charity like what Mouse has claimed.

Cant wait to see Kson leave Vshojo and be independent. Hopefully she brings the kettle with her too.

Kson is live right now and so far doesnt seem to know about Ironmouse. I'd probably expect her to say something relatively soon.
Henya will need logistics support in order to continue doing this, she is not a project management monster like Doki, or a tech maven like Dooby, Nor is she clad in a hat made of Holobucks.

Mythic might be able to help her with that, I do wonder how fast the Fishman could move to roll her in as an Invader if the opportunity arose, because with the Phase JP infrastructure in place, that could be one hell of a pickup.

I do think that bringing in a "large" Invader is now more viable/less jarring since Quest debuted.
